Eelūnaapèewii Lahkèewiit Outdoor Education Program

Course:  PAD1O/2O/3O/4O, Healthy Living and Outdoor Activities, Grade 9-12

Eligibility:  Indigenous grade 8-12​, Adult Indigenous Learners who are close relatives

Site:   Eelünaapéewi Lahkéewiit

Dates:  

  • July 3 to 30, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Program Description:  The Healthy Living and Outdoor Activities program will include traditional Indigenous ways of knowing and cultural activities.  Through the use of Eelünaapéewi Lahkéewiit knowledge keepers, course activities will include shelter building, medicine walks, dip net building, dip net fishing, Lenape language, and Lenape football.  Adult learners who are close relatives of enrolled students may also register for the program upon the approval of the System Coordinator.  Students living in Eelünaapéewi Lahkéewiit  will have transportation.

Registration Deadline:  July 2, 2024

Student Expectations:

  • Be prepared to engage in outdoor activity in warm summer weather.
  • Be respectful of health and safety protocols.
  • Wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather and that is appropriate for a school environment.
  • Have sun protection such as a hat and sunblock.
