Alternative Education - Connections Program

Programs are available to assist students who have experienced difficulty in a traditional secondary school setting and who are in need of an alternative program delivery model. Students are referred to these programs by their home school principal. Information on available programs can be obtained from Student Services.

The SAL / Connections Project is a program designed to have liaisons provide at risk students a path of learning and support to ensure student success. Aimed at students that are secondary school age (14-17 years old).

  • service for at risk students and early leavers to re-engage students with our schools
  • reports to the Principal of Alternative and Continuing Education
  • serve as the first point of contact for students leaving secondary day school programs
  • works with Student Success Teachers/Guidance Personal/Administration, will work with secondary schools to design appropriate academic pathways for, and provide ongoing support to students

​Pam Crete - Student Support Worker

  • service for at-risk students and early leavers to re-engage students with LKDSB schools
  • reports to the Principal of Alternative and Continuing Education
  • serve as a community contact for students leaving secondary day school programs
  • works in partnership with "Connections Project" Teacher, Student Success Teachers/Guidance Personnel and Administration to assist and support students attempting to navigate community resources.​
