The CAER Organization in concert with the City of Sarnia will be holding its 15th annual EP DAY event at the Clearwater Arenas Complex Wellington Street on May 8th/2020. The show will run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Lambton County schools have been attending this event for the past 14 years and it is hoped that they will continue to do so into the forseeable future. CAER has been paying for busing for all schools to attend this event since its inception back in 2006.

The show attracts around 100 displays each year from the municipal. industrial, military, government agencies and the private sector and has between 2500-3000 attendees each year. The Sarnia show is one of the largest emergency related events in the province of Ontario if not the entire country. It provides an opportunity for students to interface with emergency responders from across the county

It is hoped that LKDSB will continue to send its students to this educational event as it has in the past.

If you require further information regarding this worthwhile activity, Please contect me at patntomcooper@cogeco.ca, or 519-344-8175, or 519-312-4038 ( cell ). I am overall coordinator for EP DAY and have served in this capacity since our first show in 2006.

3/19/2021cpalleschi@villageofpointedward.comVillage of Point Edward on behalf of Lambton Public Health
Hello,

I am the emergency management coordinator for Point Edward and working with Lambton Public Health on the fixed site vaccination clinic taking place at the Point Edward arena.

I am reaching out to see if we can engage the students in Lambton County in providing artwork to line the walls of our vaccine clinics.  Their art would line the walkways and hallways into the clinic so possibly large 11x17 size paper with words of hope, thanks to frontline staff, healthcare workers, teachers, etc, generally any positive message.  Would be a great way to show off the creativity of the wonderful students and celebrate the people that have been fighting this virus on our behalf as well as celebrate the the positive step that the vaccine is in returning us to a "normal".

I engaged the principal at the local school, Bridgeview Public School, to provide some pictures and paintings to brighten the community hall clinic and it was extremely well received.  I will attached some heartwarming emails I received from the Public Health nurses showing their gratitude.

I don't have a minimum or maximum amount I am asking for.  I can accommodate just a few or can homes for hundreds and hundreds of pieces of art.  In addition to the school art initiative we are working with Lambton County to collect and display the art of our local artists within the clinic as well.

There is a slight urgency to this as the clinics start soon (week of March 22) but I handle getting a steady flow of artwork coming in over a few days or weeks if that is needed.

Thank you

The PEO Lambton Chapter is very excited to once again offer our Lambton County Secondary School students a unique opportunity; we have partnered with the City of Sarnia to provide the students with a design challenge competition!

This will be our 2nd year running the challenge after our first attempt (2019/20) was a huge success.

Similar to the previous challenge, the City of Sarnia has given us a “project” (related to improving accessibility within Sarina) that the students can develop a solution for over the course of 4 months.   We’re planning to have a “Kick-off” meeting on October 28 to announce the project to the students,

In March (for National Engineering Month) the students will present their ideas to the City (likely in the Council Chambers with the Mayor attending!).  There is a possibility that the chosen design could actually be built next summer as well!

It is apparent that many people are not aware of the support that we provide, despite the fact that we work closely with neurologists and epileptologist in the surrounding area.
To that end we are asking you to share the attached letter with all your Principals and/or Resource Staff in each of the schools in the Lambton Kent District School Board so that they are aware of the services that we can provide for them and their staff and students.

We are hoping to engage families in the community to work together and make scarecrows for the annual Cornfest in August. The tradition of scarecrows is especially relevant to Watford Warwick's rural roots and agricultural focus.
This year we are offering a workshop before the event so we can teach children about the history of scarecrows and how to create an effective one.
Note we usually have the children take home a small flyer so I have attached those in case you want to use them. We can also supply the handouts if you prefer. Thanks Holly

Hello,

I am doing a project with schools across Canada to help animals and the environment. Three schools will win $500 for musical instruments from Long & McQuade. Schools can participate at any time from September 2023 until April 30, 2024.

Students participate by bringing donations to help animal rescues, animal shelters, animal sanctuaries or environmental non-profits. Students choose which non-profit they want to support. Any teacher, from kindergarten to grade 12, can start this project with their class. It can be one class or several classes that participate. The school will then be entered to win one of the $500 prizes.

There is no cost to participate. Here is a link with the participation form. The deadline to submit the form will be on May 3, 2024. I will not be accepting any funds, donations need to be made directly to the non-profit organizations.
