February 27, 2024

The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) approved the election of three Student Trustees to serve on the Board for the 2024-2025 school year at the February 27 Board Meeting.

The Student Senate met at Wallaceburg District Secondary School on February 21, 2024 to elect the three Student Trustees. The election was conducted in accordance with the Board's Student Trustees and Student Senate policies, regulations and administrative procedures.

Makaiyah Stonefish of Wallaceburg District Secondary School was re-elected to the position of Chatham-Kent Student Trustee, Ellias Ko of Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School was acclaimed the position of Sarnia-Lambton Student Trustee and Brynn Williams of Wallaceburg District Secondary School was elected to the position of Indigenous Student Trustee.

"We are excited to welcome Brynn and Ellias, and re-welcome Makaiyah to the Board as Student Trustees" said Randy Campbell, LKDSB Chair. β€œIt is important that our Board is inclusive of the student voice, and to ensure that the conversations we have and decisions we make are done so with that vital representation around the table."

Student Trustees attend all Board Meetings, participate in all Board deliberations with the public, and can introduce agenda items as per the Board's Procedural By-laws.
