Trustees for the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) re-elected Randy Campbell as Chair and Kelley Robertson was elected as Vice-Chair of the Board during the Annual Organization Board Meeting held on November 21, 2023.
Campbell has served as Trustee since 2006 and was first elected as Board Chair in 2020-2022. He was previously named Vice-Chair in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, after serving on several Board committees. Robertson was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2022 and serves on the Parent Involvement Committee as well as the Special Education Advisory Committee.
Campbell gave thanks to his fellow Trustees for their continued commitment to supporting student achievement and well-being and acknowledged the challenges and opportunities that have taken place, but also the ones that lie ahead.
“It is an exciting time to serve as a Trustee for the Lambton Kent District School Board," said Campbell. “Though I don't believe the year ahead will be free from challenges, I know that the work is of great importance, and I have confidence in this group of Trustees to come together and make decisions that support the LKDSB Mission, allowing for us to truly 'foster success for every student, every day'."
“I am very grateful for the support of my fellow Trustees," said Robertson. “I will continue to ensure that student success and well-being are top priority when it comes to all considerations made by the board. I also plan to focus on building confidence with the communities we serve through open and honest communication, and transparent processes."
“Congratulations to Chair Randy Campbell and Vice-Chair Kelley Robertson as they move forward in their leadership positions with the Board of Trustees," said John Howitt, Director of Education. “The role of the Board is to provide governance, much like a compass that provides direction for the operational work of the Administration. I am very optimistic that with the support of Trustees, the efforts made by all LKDSB staff to support students in their learning and overall well-being will have a significant positive impact."
