The priority for our school community remains the safety and well-being of all students and staff and we are happy to welcome our students back to in-person learning at Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCCVI) on Monday, June 6, 2022. On Thursday, June 2, 2022, concerns were raised regarding a potential threat against the school. As a precaution and based on consultation with the Ontario Provincial Police Service, Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) Senior Administration decided to close the school to in-person student learning on Friday, June 3, 2022. Ontario Provincial Police Service continue to investigate. At this time, they do not believe there is an imminent threat to public safety and the school will reopen to in-person learning on Monday, June 6, 2022. Members of the LKDSB Mental Health and Wellbeing team will be on-site on Monday, June 6, 2022 to offer counselling supports, as needed. We will continue to work closely with Ontario Provincial Police Service to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone. Should you have any further questions, please contact the school or the Ontario Provincial Police Service.
The LKDSB will continue to keep the school community updated regarding this issue. Please visit the school or LKDSB websites (www.lkdsb.net) for the most up-to-date information.
