The Chatham Adult and Continuing Education program, operated by the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB), is excited to announce its relocation from the John N. Given Learning Centre at 92 Churchill Street to a new site located at 230 Faubert Drive.
To facilitate this transition, the program will be closed to the public from June 13th to June 19th, reopening on Monday, June 20th at the new location.
“This move marks an important step forward for the Adult and Continuing Education program, enabling us to better serve our community and expand our offerings" stated Paul Wiersma, LKDSB System Coordinator for Alternative and Continuing Education.
The Chatham Adult and Continuing Education department provides a diverse range of programs catering to the needs of learners of all ages and backgrounds. These include:
- Adult Credit programs serving over 1200 learners aged 18 to 76, offering credit support at eleven sites, including First Nations communities, Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) for mature students, self-study online learning, Adult SWAC, and Adult Co-op.
- Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) programs, serving over 500 learners at seven sites, offering Skills for Success, PLAR and credit preparation, college, employment, trades and apprenticeship preparation, soft skills, and computer skills.
- International and Indigenous Language Elementary (IILE) programs, serving over 400 learners in 8 languages.
- Summer Learning Programs, serving over 1200 learners, including online learning, co-op, horticulture, integrated arts, and construction technology.
