Activities

Eagle Activity Council (EAC)
The EAC organizes several activities for our students throughout the year.  From small activities like Spirit Wear and Jersey Days, to larger activities like the Terry Fox Colour Run and Semi-Formal Dance, our EAC remains busy throughout the entire school year.  Homeroom challenges, Grade 9 Welcome Week, Canned Food Drives, and intramural sports events are key events in their school calendar.   Any student interested in joining EAC is welcome to attend our weekly meetings, Tuesdays at 11am in room 245.  Whether you act as a member of the council, or simply enjoy participating in their events, we welcome all Eagles to join in the fun!

NLSS Key Club
Sponsored by the Forest Kiwanis Club, members of the NLSS Key Club volunteer their time to assist with various community activities.  In the past, members of the Key Club have collected canned goods during the Santa Claus parade, assisted with set-up for our school graduation ceremonies, and organised fundraisers for local and international charities.  Meetings are held on Wednesdays at lunch, starting at 11am in room 249. For more information, contact Mr. Gordon, or check out our website:  http://en.keyclub.ca/

Great Positive Space – A safe place for every face
GPS, Rebound’s youth action committee was created to empower youth to create positive social change in their community.  To share their opinions and have their voices heard, in a fun supportive environment.   It meets every other week to “Get Possibilities Started”.  But in Forest, it shifted.  I think it is about being a youth led group identifying and responding to needs in the school. That includes being a “chill space”.  Being a voice for youth and finding solutions. Rebound staff are there every other week to support youth action activities.  Last year’s group renamed it “Great Positive Space – A safe place for every face”.  They also identified needs based on the results of the board wide mental health survey and worked hard to implement supports at NLSS.
