OSNP March

This morning, two outstanding Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) student nutrition programs were celebrated at the Ontario Student Nutrition Program (OSNP) – Chatham-Kent Fueling Our Future breakfast event.

Vice Principal Harwood shared the inspiring work happening at Tecumseh Public School, where staff and volunteers ensure students begin each day with nourishment and care. Mr. Ostropolec from Tilbury District High School highlighted the incredible program running at their site, showcasing how dedicated school communities are transforming student well‑being through food, connection, and compassion.

LKDSB is proud to serve on the Local Planning Partnership for OSNP Chatham-Kent and OSNP Sarnia-Lambton. Together, we work to ensure that every student has access to nutritious food that supports learning, focus, and a sense of belonging.

Today, 100% of LKDSB schools — all 62 of them — receive OSNP funding, either as their primary source or as a supplement to existing school‑run nutrition programs. This universal support means every student, in every community we serve, has access to healthy food at school. No barriers. No questions asked.

These programs are powered by a remarkable network of people:

  • dedicated staff

  • passionate students

  • generous community supporters

  • and the incredible volunteers who show up early, stay late, and pour their hearts into ensuring no child starts their day hungry.

We are deeply grateful for each and every one of them.

And with March being Nutrition Month, we’re excited to shine a spotlight all month long on the powerful programming, wonderful volunteers, and engaging events happening across our district. Follow along as we celebrate the people and partnerships that help our students rise, grow, and thrive.

Because when a child is nourished, they are empowered. When they are supported, they are unstoppable.

This is LKDSB.
