Mentor Monday was a success! Our Plaid Peers and Grade 9 students engaged in a Scavenger Hunt this morning. The activity created opportunities for students to create new connections and enhance existing ones, while exploring various areas of our building.

Congratulations to our Tartans for completing First Aid/ CPR Training! This training is part of the sector-specific certifications required of them to work towards a Red Seal in their SHSM sector.
WDSS offers the following sectors: Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, Manufacturing, Hospitality, and the Environment.

Visual Arts students are off to a great start at WDSS. They did a great job completing diagnostic animal drawings showcasing their understanding of proportion and value. Students also reviewed colour theory and oil pastel techniques to create a field of flowers on black paper.

Students at Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) have the chance to gain hands-on experience and industry-recognized certifications through the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program. Open to Grade 11 and 12 students, SHSM allows them to explore career pathways in sectors like Construction, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and more—all while earning their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Through sector-specific courses, cooperative education placements, and certifications such as First Aid/CPR, Forklift Training, and Working at Heights, students develop valuable skills that prepare them for the workforce, apprenticeships, college, or university.
