Monique shared her expertise on **green roof assembly, maintenance, system design, and plant selection**, giving students a hands-on look at how sustainable roofing solutions help manage stormwater and support urban biodiversity.
Students even built their own small-scale green roof models to test stormwater absorption 💧🌿 — seeing sustainability in action! To top it off, they had the chance to try on professional work equipment and get a real feel for careers in the green industry.

It was Book Tasting Day in the library! 📚 Librarian, Mrs. Kraayenbrink, set up several book stations across multiple genres (and audiobooks!). Mrs. Lozon’s English classes moved through the book stations, exploring new reads and finding their next great book.

"To truly understand history, you have to look beyond one story of the past." Our Gr. 10 History students kicked off their latest project by challenging the status quo, engaging in a lesson to uncover 'multiple voices' and perspectives from the past. Inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s powerful message in 'The Danger of a Single Story,' students gained a new lens through which to view culture, history, literature, and representation.
This set the stage for a deep dive into the WDSS library collection! For Black History Month, students hand-selected resources to drive their own investigations. By navigating the transition from curiosity to scholarship, they leveled up their skills in critical questioning, analysis, citations, paraphrasing and looking at multiple perspectives of history. We have some future historians officially in the making!

Our Life Skills classes had fun learning about infant care and safety with the computer babies this week. They read books, sang songs and did some rhymes with their babies to help with infant learning and building bonds. It was an exciting experience!
