We are appreciative of Emma, our LKDSB social worker, who is working with Mrs. Moran’s and Mr. Wilson’s classes. Students are learning about developing positive peer relationships and effective communication styles, helping them build strong social and interpersonal skills.

What an incredible night at the SJM Family Barbecue! Thank you to everyone who came out and braved the extreme heat to celebrate with us. From balloon animals and ice cream to spinning the wheel for public health, going on a picture adventure with the library, enjoying great food, games, and so much fun — you helped make the evening unforgettable. We were also thrilled to have our Book Fair open and our Art Showcase on display. Our students’ creativity and talent truly shone tonight. A very special thank‑you to our amazing Parent Council for hosting tonight’s event and the Corunna Fire Department for cooking and bringing our school community together in such a meaningful way. What a fantastic night at SJM! 🌞🎈🍦🎨📚

PA DAY Reminder: June 5
Today was truly an incredible day at the Pow Wow! ❤️ We are so grateful for the opportunity to experience and celebrate this special event through the support of the Niigaan Gdizhaami Fund and our valued partnership with Aamjiwnaang First Nation. This day would not have been possible without the many dedicated volunteers who contributed countless hours to planning, organizing, and bringing everything together. Your hard work and commitment made this celebration a success. We were honoured to welcome so many talented dancers, with 9 different schools coming together in a spirit of community, culture, learning, and celebration. Seeing everyone gathered to share in this experience was truly inspiring. Miigwetch to everyone who participated, supported, volunteered, danced, sang, and helped make today such a memorable occasion.

🎉 The Dom-Inn-O Challenge Was a Huge Success! 🎉 Today, our school community came together for the Dom-Inn-O Challenge, and the results were incredible! A heartfelt thank you to all of our SJM families for their generous donations of cereal boxes. Thanks to your support, we are donating 483 boxes of cereal to support the important work of the Inn of the Good Shepherd. 🥣 We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Foodland and Chris’ No Frills for their very generous donations, which helped make this initiative even more impactful. A special shout-out goes to Mrs. Moran’s Grade 5/6 class, who did an outstanding job organizing the event, collecting donations, and setting up the impressive domino track for today’s challenge. Your hard work, leadership, and enthusiasm helped make the day a memorable one for everyone involved. Thank you to our entire SJM community for demonstrating such kindness, generosity, and school spirit. Together, we are making a difference! 💙💛

We are excited to cheer on our runners in the "Final Heat" event on Monday and Tuesday next week to determine who is going to the conference meet to represent SJM. If you qualified from your class to run the 100, 200 or 400 m, ensure to have your runners and water with you. Freezies will be available for sale for $1 during this period.

Mme. Mezz and Mme. Coates's class made “yummy in my tummy healthy banana muffins” from the You’re the Chef menu created by Lambton Public Health. 🍌🧁 During the activity, students learned how to scoop, measure, and stir — building confidence and hands‑on skills while creating a delicious, healthy snack. A heartfelt thank you to President’s Choice Power Full Kids Eat Well Program, whose support helps cover food costs and Lambton Public Health for making experiences like this possible for our students.
