Today’s first fire drill of the year went smoothly. Students followed directions, moved efficiently, and arrived at their meeting locations with their teachers in a calm and orderly manner. Great job SJM! As part of our shared commitment to safety, we encourage families to check their home fire alarms to ensure they are functioning properly and that you have a designated meeting spot.

Today, Ms. Leanne guided students through a beautiful lesson on the Three Sisters—corn, beans, and squash—and the teachings connected to them. Students practiced beading, creating a repeating pattern of three beads and one corn bead (bezhig mandaamin) to represent this important relationship. A meaningful blend of culture, creativity, and learning.

Today we kicked off our first assembly of the year with an inspiring start to our Terry Fox Run. A huge thank you to our Student Leadership Team for running the assembly with confidence and heart. Let’s make this year a huge success as we carry on Terry’s legacy of courage and determination.

Grade 5 students engaged in an important learning experience today with Ms. Leanne and Ashley, focusing on Truth and Reconciliation. Students learned beading techniques and created orange shirt pins to honour the message that every child matters. We are grateful for this meaningful opportunity.

Today, our students and teachers came together for a traditional 2-Pitch game! ⚾️ It was a fun afternoon filled with teamwork, friendly competition, and lots of laughter. The students came out on top with an 8–4 victory, earning some well-deserved bragging rights!

Mrs. Richardson’s class had a wonderful day learning about Turtle Island with Moses. With Miss Leanne’s help, the students created stunning artwork inspired by the story — each one is unique and so special.

Core French students in Madame Saunders’ and Madame Brydges’ Core French classes learned about Quebec traditions—from holidays to iconic foods—and wrapped up their cultural projects by making their own poutine. A fun and tasty way to bring French culture to life in the classroom. Learning never tasted so good! 🇫🇷
