Wow, what a finish to the JMSS intramural indoor soccer season!
⚽🥅
"Teacher Team A" didn't just win, they conquered, securing a JMSS intramural three-peat in the most dramatic fashion!
⚽️🥅
After a last-minute foul by Miss Meredith on a student led to a thrilling no-goal call by Ref Wood, it all came down to a shootout.
⚽️
And that's where heroes emerged: Mr. Page saved the game by scoring the only goal, and Mr. Parks was an absolute brick wall, saving every single shot! Unbelievable!
⚽️🥅
A huge thank you to all the students and staff who made bringing back Panther Intramurals so fun! We couldn't have done it without all of y'all.

Last week on Thursday June 12th, the JMSS Indigenous Student Council organized the 2nd Annual JMSS Pow-Wow! Special guests, singers, dancers, vendors, visitors, community members and members of the surrounding nations all attended the celebration. This event brings with it dance styles and history from various tribes from across North America. Not only did our Indigenous Student Council participate, students from the CKSS Indigenous Student Council also came to show their support! The day was truly something special.

With the hustle and bustle that comes with wrapping up course work and preparing for Final Evaluations, we are very thankful for the opportunity to host the St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dogs. Their second visit was just as big of a success as their first.

To be a Panther is to have opportunities like this one. Completing a fluids inspection on a Viper, yes please!

Our Panther Leadership class, along with some of our Panther staff, spent a memorable afternoon with our future Panthers from Winston Churchill. The talent was amazing, the laughs were contagious, and the vibe was electric!

What an incredible night! 🎉 Our Athletic Banquet was a huge success, celebrating the dedication, talent, and sportsmanship of our amazing student-athletes and coaches!
It was fantastic to see everyone come together to honour a season of hard work, triumphs, and unforgettable moments. Huge congratulations to all award winners and every single athlete who gave it their all!

One student in the ALLP Gym Class today is officially crowned the empress of Just Dance. Our LKDSB Summer Camp Leaders are basically her loyal subjects now. Bow down, everyone!
👑💃

Check out the June calendar with Snack & Study Lunch and After School Sessions, along with the Final Evaluations schedule below.

Last week JMSS sent four students to Ottawa to compete in the Special Olympics Ontario provincial championships. Over the course of the four days the kids had an absolute blast seeing the sights in Ottawa, competing in bocce ball, and participating in a variety of events like the red and white themed dance. The team brought home gold, wining their unified bocce division!! Great job Panthers!!!

Get ready to groove with our ALLP Gym Class!
🕺💃
We're squeezing in as many Just Dance sessions as possible before the school year wraps up! Let's keep showing off our moves these last couple weeks!!

One of our Panther student's visited Mr Stonehouse in the Transportation room to fill the tires on the wagon! Mr. Stonehouse taught our Panther about the parts of a tire and how an air compressor works. When our student returned to class, he applied this knowledge to the tools he had - a hand pump and some balls.

John McGregor was incredibly fortunate to host a true inspiration: Jason Simon, a former NHL player from Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
Jason shared powerful insights on the importance of perseverance, resilience, and maintaining a positive mindset – invaluable lessons for navigating challenges on and off the ice. His journey is a testament to what's possible when you believe in yourself and never give up.🏒🥅

What an inspiring day! Our Grade 10 history classes spent the day at the Buxton Museum, delving into vital Black history. It was a truly powerful learning experience. A big thank you to Bradley, Michelle and Ricky for their amazing support and organization!

We celebrated the beginning of Pride Month and Indigenous History Month with a flag raising ceremony.
The GSA did a fantastic job organizing this meaningful event. We had beautiful and moving speeches by Alivia, Andrea, Mrs. Nelson, and Mrs. Cadotte. We also had incredible musical performances by Mr. Mitchell and Gibson Smith-Howard.
Pride isn't just in June. It's a commitment to allyship every single day. At JMSS, we know that the bravest thing you can be is yourself. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈🌈❤️

Students from the JMSS SHSM Health and Wellness and Senior Science programs visited the University of Windsor, where they toured the Human Kinetics building and engaged in hands-on lab activities, exploring topics such as reaction time, biomechanical forces, and more.
The guided experience continued through the Toldo Lancer Centre, where students took part in team-building activities, and concluded with an informative trek through the main campus.

What a paw-some afternoon! 🐾 Our Pawsitive Panther Leaders and friends from Victor Lauriston enjoyed some well-deserved leisure time with board games, JENGA, UNO, and the calming presence of wonderful therapy dogs. It's amazing what a little play and puppy love can do for the soul! #MentalWellness #PawsitiveVibes #TherapyDogLove

🌱👩🔬👨🔬 HUGE SUCCESS in Mrs. Smith & Miss Regts' science class! Our little plant experiment that started in the greenhouse MONTHS AGO has EXPLODED with growth after transplanting into the garden boxes out in the courtyard.
🥗 We've got lettuce, red onion, carrots, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peas, and (drumroll please) PUMPKINS galore! 🎃
So proud of our students' green thumbs!
Thanks, Mrs. Lally-Mitchell for all of your help!!
