The group recently visited JMSS to celebrate a generous donation of 10 4-cylinder engines from Ford Canada to our Transportation Tech program. Students got a chance to meet the Lally team, learn about careers in the automotive industry, and work on exciting hands-on projects. We’re grateful for their ongoing support of our programs like Auto Racing and Rebuilding Wheels – Rebuilding Lives. 🚗🔧

Adam Lally, President of Lally Auto Group, along with his team, visited JMSS to celebrate the recent donation from Ford Canada of ten 4-cylinder engines to our Transportation Technology Program. Our students had an opportunity to engage in Q&A to discuss careers in the automotive industry, they shared their current projects, and were shown how to set up the valve timing on the donated engines.

Grade 9 students studied Alma Woodsey Thomas this month and recreated her artwork. Thomas was an influential and inspirational African American artist who helped define Abstract Expression.
The Grade 11 class made these amazing portraits illustrating Black Excellence. Each student researched their subject and reflected on their significant contributions to our country. These were made with knowledge, love, and respect for Black History using only ballpoint pen.

A dedicated educator with over 25 years of service, Gary has been a lifelong champion of student achievement, equity, and community collaboration. Having held various roles across the Board, including Superintendent of Education, his experience and commitment to creating inclusive, safe learning environments make him the perfect leader to guide the future of education in our region.
As Gary steps into this new role, he remains deeply committed to fostering a community where every student, staff member, and family feels valued and supported. With a passion for education and a belief in the power of public schools, he is excited to continue the Board's efforts in creating a thriving, innovative environment for all.
