Today M. Triest's students invited classes to play the math probability games they created. Students deepened their understanding of probability concepts through real-world application, and mathematical communication. Bravo, les amis!

Come support our Grade 8 graduation at their BBQ tomorrow at Heidi's Independent Grocery from 11 a.m - 1 p.m.

Students from Mme Nesbitt's class were graciously invited to Bear Creek Residence to join our neighbours in some fun outdoor activities. Bubbles, corn hole and parachute were just a few of the activities enjoyed by all ages! Thank you to the staff at Bear Creek for organizing this wonderful opportunity for our students to get to know our neighbours.

Our Grade 7 and 8 students proudly display and explain their science projects to the younger classes today. Everyone is encouraged to view them tonight at our Families Learning Together event from 4 p.m - 6:30 p.m. We have some real budding scientists here at Hillcrest!

We are looking forward to a day outside together! Hope you can join us.

Come, join us!

Great work today, Dragons! In honour of Earth Month, students from Hillcrest did their part to clean up the community. We spread out and cleaned up many neighbourhoods in town, collecting over 20 bags of garbage along the way. You have made our community a little bit nicer for everyone to enjoy!

It's election day! Students are casting their ballot today in Student Vote Canada. The importance of civics starts young and our students have been following the campaign and staying informed.

Lost and Found items ready to make their way back to your home.

Tomorrow's Community Clean-Up has been postponed due to the forecasted weather. We will attempt to do it on Monday, however, we will need volunteers to make this happen. If you have some free time on Monday from 11:30-1:00, please sign up here. https://forms.office.com/r/AsJCJJV499

Today, St.Clair Conservation Area came to share their Spring Water Awareness program with our primary students. The program focuses on the hazards associated with the cold, deep and fast-flowing waters of the season and engages students through age-appropriate and curriculum-connected experiments, activities and games that take place in the schoolyard.

Congratulations to our junior boys and girls basketball teams on their successful first season. It was great to be able to offer this opportunity to our junior students this year. Thank you to Coach Chalupka and Kennefick for your leadership.

It was big smiles on this sunny spring day when we got the approval to open our brand-new play equipment.
This equipment is the result of years of fundraising from our school community and School Council. We would also like to acknowledge our partnership with Jackpot Time for their continuous support through Bingo fundraising.

Congratulations to the Hillcrest e-sports team for representing us at the Lambton College tournament tonight. You played hard and represented us well in our inaugural season. Un grand merci à M. Woltz and Parliament for bringing this to us and providing so many students the opportunity to participate in intramurals.

Using linking cubes to explore area in math is a great way for students to understand an abstract concept. Students built shapes and counted the cubes to discover that area is really just the number of square units that cover a surface. Learning through exploration is the best way to make it stick!
