The Lambton Kent District School Board has absolutely no plans or intentions to close, move, or sell Lambton Kent Composite School (LKCS).
For more than 55 years, LKCS has been a cornerstone of the Dresden community—educating students from Dawn-Euphemia Public School, Zone Township Central School, Thamesville Area Public School, Dresden Area Central School, and beyond. It’s a school where tradition meets excellence, and we’re proud of the incredible opportunities it provides for our students.
We value the trust and support of our families and community. The best way to stay informed about LKDSB news and updates?

Thank you for being part of the Cardinal family. Together, we’ll continue to celebrate the incredible legacy and bright future of our school!
There are unique hosting opportunities coming up in the LKDSB International Education Program. We will welcome a group of 20 semester scholarship students from Brazil for semester 2, and we are looking for homestays in all LKDSB communities. These amazing young people have been granted a government scholarship and a chance of a lifetime to come and study in Canada. In September, we will also welcome 10 scholarship students from Spain, 20 more Brazilian scholarship students and school groups from different parts of the world. We are looking for hosts in all our communities. Have you considered welcoming an international student into your home?

Their moving performance earned a well-deserved standing ovation from all in attendance. 👏🏽
The LKDSB is grateful to these amazing students and their dedicated teacher for sharing their gifts and helping us reflect and honour this Remembrance Day. ❤️

Our trustees are the bridge between our schools and the communities they serve. They listen, lead, and make decisions that impact everything from school programming to student well-being. Whether they’re attending school events, engaging with families, or helping shape long-term strategies, their work is rooted in care, collaboration, and a deep belief in the power of public education.
This Local Government Week, we celebrate the leaders who serve with heart, vision, and commitment—thank you for all you do to support LKDSB students, staff, and schools.

At last night’s public board meeting, the Lambton Kent District School Board’s Board of Trustees and Executive Team wore their orange shirts in recognition of the upcoming Orange Shirt Day—a visible and heartfelt affirmation of our shared commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
This gesture is more than symbolic. It reflects our ongoing responsibility to listen, learn, and act in ways that honour the experiences of Indigenous children, families, and communities. As a public school board, we recognize the important role we play in advancing reconciliation and ensuring that Every Child Matters.
In the weeks ahead, we look forward to sharing stories, teachings, and school-based observances from across LKDSB that deepen understanding and strengthen relationships. These moments will continue to affirm our dedication to creating safe, inclusive spaces where all students feel seen, valued, and supported.

More than 1,800 LKDSB students took part in Summer Learning Programs, earning credits, reaching ahead, recovering courses, and exploring unique opportunities. From online learning and co-op placements to cultural experiences, Indigenous-focused programs, and international language classes, LKDSB students embraced learning in so many ways.
Congratulations to all students on their summer success! Learn more here: https://www.lkdsb.net/article/10981
