LKDSB Celebrates 2025 Stefanko Award Recipients
The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) celebrates the athletic and academic achievements of the 2025 recipients of the Stefanko Award.
The Stefanko Award honours secondary student-athletes from the Sarnia-Lambton area who are outstanding in their athletic and academic achievements, as well as demonstrate leadership through extra-curricular involvement.
This year’s LKDSB recipients of the Stefanko Award are:
Bella Gagné, Great Lakes Secondary School – Bella has exemplified academic excellence throughout her high school career and has demonstrated exceptional athletic talent, earning the title of Athlete of the Year at GLSS. She has also competed at the OFSAA level. Bella will begin her studies at the University of Guelph this fall.
Alex Pretty, Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School – Alex is a high-achieving student who has also made significant contributions to school athletics. He was named Athlete of the Year at Northern and competed at the OFSAA level during his time there. Alex will attend Wilfrid Laurier University in September.
“We are proud to recognize Bella and Alex as this year’s Stefanko Award recipients,” said LKDSB Director Gary Girardi. “They represent the best of what it means to be a student-athlete—excelling in the classroom, on the field, and in their communities.”
“We also want to recognize all of the LKDSB students who were nominated for this award. Your commitment, perseverance, and leadership are truly commendable, and we are inspired by your achievements.”
