We, the staff of King George VI, believe in an extra-curricular program which is varied, offering many optional
activities such as music, drama, sports and other programs aimed to help students gain personal self-achievement.
We believe the activities should be voluntarily shared among the
staff, keeping in mind a fair distribution of time and facilities while
providing a safe and well supervised environment.
We believe students as participants in extra-curricular activities
need to be good role models for our school. They must demonstrate
responsibility, good sportsmanship and commitment to their academics in
order to participate.
Parents are encouraged and welcomed to be involved by assisting in coaching, attending events,
modelling good sportsmanship and supporting the decisions of the school.
King George VI offers a variety of house league activities designed
to promote participation and friendly competition. The activities are
seasonal in nature – soccer in the fall, volleyball and basketball
during the winter and two-pitch in the spring.
In addition to the house league activities, we enter teams in the
regional tournaments for all sports including the Northern Basketball
Feeder League. Many pennants adorn the perimeter of our gym to indicate
our many successes.
King George has a yearbook committee consisting of 8-14 students and the project leader.
