Student Ambassador Program

The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) School Ambassador Program is designed for current secondary students who are creative, energetic, and connected to their school community. Ambassadors act as official digital storytellers, capturing authentic student experiences through photos and short video clips. These materials are then used to create a promotional video highlighting the unique aspects of each school, which is shared with students and families in feeder schools.

Student Responsibilities

Document student life and school events through digital media. Collaborate with other ambassadors to produce a short, engaging promotional video. Participate in virtual meetings and check-ins with ambassadors across the district. Receive mentorship and guidance from LKDSB staff and alumni professionals. Showcase their work at a film festival and student dinner in June, attended by families, local leaders, and district staff.

Benefits for Students

Develop leadership, communication, and digital media skills. Gain hands-on experience in video production and storytelling. Build a portfolio of creative work for future academic or career opportunities. Receive recognition for contributions to the school community.

Program Impact

The program not only promotes the school to prospective students and families but also empowers students to tell their own stories, fostering a sense of pride and engagement within the school community. It is intended to be an annual initiative, led by the LKDSB Student Senate with support from the Director’s Office and Secondary Program.
