The Lambton Kent District School Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan provides a shared direction for supporting student success and guiding the work of the Board over the next five years.

Approved by the LKDSB Board of Trustees on October 6, 2026, the plan reflects extensive engagement with students, staff, families, First Nations partners, community organizations and the communities served by LKDSB.

Strategic Priorities 2026/2027 - 2030/2031

The Multi-Year Strategic Plan is centred around three connected priorities:

• Learning: We hold high expectations for all learners.

• Well-Being: We value and care for each other.

• Trust: We invest in relationships and commit to fiscal responsibility.
  

  At the foundation of all three priorities is Belonging:

  We champion anti-oppressive education and create equitable, welcoming environments where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive.

  Belonging is woven throughout Learning, Well-Being and Trust, recognizing the importance of creating school and work environments where students and staff feel valued, supported and connected.

From Planning to Action

The Multi-Year Strategic Plan establishes the overarching direction for LKDSB. Annual operational planning will translate these priorities into specific objectives and outcomes, helping connect the Board’s long-term strategic direction with the work taking place across LKDSB.

Progress toward the priorities will be monitored and shared with the Board of Trustees and the communities LKDSB serves.

LKDSB Senior Administration will develop an Operational Plan containing goals aligned with the Strategic Priorities and this will be reported annually to the Board of Trustees. 

Developing the 2026/2027 - 2030/2031 Multi-Year Strategic Plan

The new plan was developed through a multi-phase engagement and consultation process that gathered perspectives from across the LKDSB community. Students, staff, families, Trustees, First Nations partners, community partners and others had opportunities to contribute to the development of the plan.
