Graduation requirements depend on the year that a student began Grade 9 with the LKDSB

Diploma Requirements

Started Grade 9 in 2023 or earlier

Started Grade 9 in 2024 or later

Credits

  • 18 compulsory credits

  • 12 optional credits

  • 17 compulsory credits

  • 13 optional credits

Other Requirements

  • 40 hours of community involvement

  • the literacy requirement

  • at least 2 online learning credits

  • 40 hours of community involvement

  • at least 2 online learning credits

  • the financial literacy requirement

Note: Beginning in September 2026, Grade 10 students are required to complete a Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement within their course credit of their compulsory Grade 10 Career Studies course. A mark of 70% or higher is needed to pass this requirement.
