Congratulations to Derek Quigley, Vice Principal at John McGregor Secondary School, on receiving the Black Excellence in Education Award at the 2nd Annual Chatham-Kent Black Excellence Awards Gala! 🏆
This new award, sponsored by the Lambton Kent District School Board, recognizes Black educators who make a lasting impact—championing students, advocating for equity, and leading meaningful change in education. Derek’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to uplifting Black students and fostering inclusivity are truly inspiring!👏🏾
A huge thank you to the organizers, the community for voting, and to all the incredible LKDSB Black educators who were nominated—you are making a difference every day! 🙌🏾

Thank you to the @CKBHS for sharing their infographic posters that tell the story of the Chatham Coloured All-Stars. Classes were able to come down and learn together about this important piece of Chatham's history.

The Student Leadership Team did a great job leading this month's assembly where we celebrated students who are Inclusive of others and those that are excelling in Phys Ed classes.

On this Trades Talk Tuesday we want to give a BIG thanks to Adam Lally and the Lally Auto Group for their incredible ongoing support!
The group recently visited JMSS to celebrate a generous donation of 10 4-cylinder engines from Ford Canada to our Transportation Tech program. Students got a chance to meet the Lally team, learn about careers in the automotive industry, and work on exciting hands-on projects. We’re grateful for their ongoing support of our programs like Auto Racing and Rebuilding Wheels – Rebuilding Lives. 🚗🔧

Celebrating and learning during Black History month.
The pictures we create and the lives we live are so much more interesting when we incorporate a variety of colours.

Thank you to our guest judges Mrs Bueckert, Mrs Heinhouse, and Mrs Dittmer.
