We love seeing our students earn a 0, in fact, we're so excited about it that we rewarded all of our students who have achieved a 0.
What?!?
Congratulations to all of our students who have 0 days absent so far this year. We can't wait to see how many more there will be next month🍩

Today's Remembrance Day service was a beautiful tribute to honour Canada's soldiers and peacekeepers. Our students led and participated in the service with respect, reverence and gratitude.
Making it even more personal and significant was the display of student artwork all around the gym.

Grade 6&7 students were busy creating signs to advertise THE GIFT, ready for posting around town.

Our grade 8, had a blast at the JMSS Transition Day! They got to experience what life in high school was going by to be like next year.
Our students had the opportunity to visit a math and English class, plant pots in the greenhouse, play some music on ukuleles, explore the science labs and the gym as well as enjoy lunch in the cafeteria.
We cannot wait to watch these Lions turn into Panthers🦁

The great skating tradition continues at VLS - this week, the Junior classes had a great time at the arena today⛸️

Congratulations to our Victor Lauriston runners who competed at the LKESSA Cross Country meet at Canatara Park in Sarnia today. The weather was bright, and the smiles were even brighter as these girls did a great job of representing our school, along with all the other schools across the LKDSB. Way to go team!

Help us cheer on the Jays - wear blue and white tomorrow!

🎓 We couldn't be more #LKDSBProud of Superintendent Ben Hazzard, who leads LKDSB’s Elementary Program, on earning his Doctorate in Education from the Western University! His research is helping strengthen early literacy supports and student success across the district!

Every week, Mrs Sprik picks up our groceries for the Breakfast and Snack program. Today, this happened:
"While checking out out at the grocery store for our breakfast program, the man behind me in line made a comment about all the yogurt in my cart. I explained that it was for our schools breakfast program.
Long story short, he walked down the breakfast aisle and grabbed an entire case of cereal. He said he wished these programs were around when he was a kid growing up in poverty."
We'd like to wish this kind man at Food Basics our deepest thanks for this generous donation. We are deeply grateful that our students can begin their day with a full belly.

Our Kindergarten students are so smart! Listening to them practice their letter sounds and their phonemics is amazing.

Welcome to our Book Tasting!
Our Learning Commons teacher, Mrs Carrothers, is giving students the opportunity to "sample" the many books our library has to offer.

What a great day for our annual Terry Fox Run. Thank you to our students for donating - we raised 118% of our goal amount!

The weather cooperated to give us a great night for our Meet the Staff BBQ. Thank you to the families who came out to join us, to those who signed up for School Council and to John McGregor staff and students for joining us.

Excited to see our Leadership team outfitted in their new spirit wear. Can't wait to see them in action with @Kiwanis TERRIFIC KIDS

Two great events for families next week - everyone welcome.
