Our Senior Girls took over the court at JMSS last night for the AA Finals, and let’s just say it was a battle.

While Queen Elizabeth came out swinging and built a gap in the first quarter that was harder to close than a suitcase on the last day of vacation, our girls never stopped hunting for that comeback. The scoreboard might not have gone our way this time, but the hustle? Off the charts. 📈

Let’s look at the "Stat Sheet" that really matters:
League Play: 1st Place (Yeah, they’re kind of a big deal). 🏆
Work Ethic: 100% since day one.
Intimidation Factor: High.
Future: Extremely bright.

We are incredibly proud of this squad. They fought hard, played fair, and proved why they were the ones to beat all season long. Head high, ladies—you’ve had a phenomenal run!

🎓 Future Leaders in the Making!
Our Grade 5 students officially leveled up today! After six weeks of hard work, they’ve officially graduated from the VIP (Values, Influences, and Peers) Program.

Through this journey, our students dived deep into what it takes to be a great citizen, focusing on:
✨ Solid Values: Building a strong foundation for every decision.
🌟 Positive Influences: Learning how to choose the right mentors and path.
🤝 True Friendship: Understanding the power of being (and having) a good friend.

A massive thank you to the Chatham Kent Police for facilitating these vital lessons and the Optimist Club of Chatham for their incredible support. We are so proud of our students and can’t wait to see them put these values into action!

The fog had interrupted our plans! Not only are buses cancelled this morning, the trip to the Curling Club has also been cancelled today. Don't worry though, buses will run this afternoon and we'll work on rescheduling the curling trip. Stay safe out there!

The Olympics may be over but we have done world class winners right here at Victor Lauriston. Congratulations to the winners of the annual Public Speaking contest! Representing their classes, from Kindergarten to Grade 8, we were entertained, informed and educated! Confidence and courage were in tall order and these 5 students sure delivered!

It was a big day for our grade 8's as they took one more step towards high school. Students met with the JMSS Student Success team to discuss course selection, extra curricular interests and have another opportunity to ask them questions about high school. Our students are so fortunate to have the chance to sit down for these one-on-one intake meetings, thanks to Mr Reagan and Mrs Terry for all you're doing to make this transition warm and welcoming.

😋Yummo😋 Today's You're The Chef program was brought to you by Egg Wraps and Pizza-dillas! Students washed, chopped, cracked, grilled and most importantly ate! They weren't too sure about the mushrooms or avocado, but bravely tried one bite of everything!

🧱 Move Over, Grandmasters – Recess Just Got Serious! ♟️
The energy at school today was absolutely electric as we kicked off our first sessions of Lego Builders and Chess Club! Whether students were snapping bricks together or plotting their next gambit, the engagement level was super high.

🏗️ Building Dreams
Our Lego creators were out in full force!
Some followed the blueprints to master intricate sets.
Others went "Master Builder" mode, let their imaginations run wild, and created some incredible custom builds.

⚔️ The Battle for the Board
On the other side of the room, the Chess boards were a total battlefield. We saw:
Knights jumping into the fray to lead the attack.
Bishops slicing across the board, hunting down the King.
Pawns running for their lives!
Plenty of intense "Checkmate!" moments as players competed for ultimate supremacy.

It’s amazing to see so much creativity and strategy happening all in one place. We’re already counting down the days until next week!

🏀SLAM DUNK🏀 Proud of our Lions who represented at this year's All-Star game! Both games were fast paced, energetic, and full of end to end action. The final scores were very close, highlighting the depth of ability in our elementary schools. Thank you to Chatham Barbers, Chatham Sports Hall of Fame and Tim Mavor for making this opportunity happen for our students. #lionspride #lkdsb #hoopdreams

🍓COOKING UP SOMETHING GREAT🍌 We had a blast today, kicking off the You're The Chef program!👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 In partnership with CK Public Health, this amazing program gives kids a chance to get hands-on in the kitchen. Not only are they learning essential kitchen, safety skills, but they're also discovering how to whip up nutritious (and seriously tasty) meals from scratch! On today's menu: Very Berry Banana Smoothies🥤 Strawberry Pancakes🥞 The verdict? Absolutely delicious!😋 There was plenty of laughter, a little bit of flour, and a whole lot of fun! We are already counting down the days until next week's menu! #You'reTheChef #CKPublicHealth #HealthyKids #FunInTheKitchen #LKDSB

Snow much fun at Winter Fest! The Leadership Team took today's snowfall and turned it into a full-blown outdoor adventure - sledding, snowshoeing, and snow angels were the vibe! Big thanks to our student leaders and their advisors for making today a core memory. Who says school can't be a winter wonderland!☃️❄️

BEST. DAY. EVER.❄️ Mother nature definitely understood the assignment today! Our leadership team turned the fresh snowfall into the ultimate Winter Fest, and the energy was unmatched. From racing along the field on sleds to mastering snow shoes, and even some chilly Frisbee Golf, our students proved that there's no such thing as"too cold" when you are having this much fun!🌨️☃️
