Snow much fun at Winter Fest! The Leadership Team took today's snowfall and turned it into a full-blown outdoor adventure - sledding, snowshoeing, and snow angels were the vibe! Big thanks to our student leaders and their advisors for making today a core memory. Who says school can't be a winter wonderland!☃️❄️

BEST. DAY. EVER.❄️ Mother nature definitely understood the assignment today! Our leadership team turned the fresh snowfall into the ultimate Winter Fest, and the energy was unmatched. From racing along the field on sleds to mastering snow shoes, and even some chilly Frisbee Golf, our students proved that there's no such thing as"too cold" when you are having this much fun!🌨️☃️

Our ECE's are amazing! Today they combined their classes and did a joint Heggerty lesson, teaching letters and sounds to the JK's and they were so in synch that they sounded like one person! We're lucky to have such great Kindergarten teams🩷 #lionspride

Our Grade 6 students had an incredible time diving into hands-on learning during tech innovation day at John McGregor! From the auto shop to the kitchen, our students explored the endless possibilities of a career in the trades. Highlights of the day included: Electrical: wiring switches to light up the room💡 Transportation: getting under the hood to practice tire changes🛞 Manufacturing: creating custom sheet metal phone holders📱 Cosmetology: mastering the art of the perfect braid💇 Culinary: whipping up delicious handmade pizzas🍕 It was inspiring to see their creativity and skills grow in real time. We can't wait to see where their future lies!

We are incredibly proud of our ongoing partnership with John McGregor Secondary School! A massive thank you to Mr. Stonehouse and his talented students for breathing new life into our Kindergarten tricycle fleet.

After years of well-loved use, these "sets of wheels" were in need of some expert care. The JMSS team took this on as a real-world challenge—researching cost-effective restoration methods and applying classroom technical skills to a practical community project. Thanks to their ingenuity and hard work, our youngest learners will soon be cruising the playground on safely refurbished, stylish rides.

Grade 5 students enjoyed learning about the principles of engineering by building trusses with a group of retired engineers through the Science Ed Partnership. The best part was testing the structural stability of their truss by measuring how much load each one could take before snapping!

Our Grade 6's had a great afternoon with Mr O, our Technology Special Projects Teacher, in preparation for Tech Innovation Day next week. They learned about OYAP, SHSM, shop safety and the best part was working together to make a Cobra Weave Stick Bomb! They also had the chance to spend some time with Mr Wood from JMSS, building their relationship with their future high school.
