We are so proud of Mrs. Quigley and Mrs. Carrothers on their LKETFO Educator awards.

We've known for a long time how amazing they are by giving back to the school and their community in so many ways, and now, the rest of the world knows it too!

Their creativity, drive, volunteerism and work ethic make Victor Lauriston a fantastic place to be - every day!

Our Grade 5-8 students are loving the opportunity to learn more about and play Pickleball from the Chatham Pickleball Club this week. I think there are some new converts to the sport, thanks to this opportunity to play.

We are so proud of our Grade 7 and 8 young men from Victor Lauriston who headed out to the Capitol Theatre today for the Male Youth Summit, hosted by Strain Sisters! This wasn't just a field trip; it was a powerful opportunity for our students to lean into personal growth, leadership, and self-reflection. From workshops on emotional intelligence to discussions on community responsibility, these students are learning exactly what it takes to be positive, empathetic representatives for the male community. We can’t wait to see them bring these lessons back to our hallways and lead by example. Way to go, trailblazers!

We had so much fun welcoming our new Kindergarten families to our Open House tonight. Hot dogs were cooked to perfection, bikes were ridden all over the yard and there was a little bit of water left in the sensory table by night's end. 🌭🚲💦 Next year's class looks like it will be amazing, we're so excited for school to start!

Our Grade 8's and the Leadership Team welcomed students and staff from the Global Leadership Academy in Philadelphia to Victor Lauriston today. What a dynamic and thoughtful group😊 We had the chance to connect over lunch, including many "Only in Canada" treats, and then spent time outdoors, playing, connecting and having fun. What a fantastic opportunity to learn from one another that building bridges is far more effective than building walls. We can't wait for next year's visit😁

Our Lions had a blast watching the Barnstormer's play today. Despite the outcome of the game, they made a core memory cheering the home team on! More importantly though, we are so proud of the behaviour after the game. Our Intermediate students stayed behind and cleaned up the ballpark. Over 1000 students can create quite a mess, but our Lions stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with their sense of community and dedication to leaving the park better than they found it. We are so proud of our students and feel confident that they are going to make a positive difference in our world.

A giant thank you to Community Living for donating boxed lunches to 2 of our classrooms today. The wraps were so delicious and the chocolate chip cookie was the perfect treat to top it off. We appreciate your generosity in helping us fill our bellies.

We were fortunate today to be joined at school by the Dashner family from Bkejwanong. They shared their culture, their language and their art with us and students were left in awe. We are grateful to have been able to learn today.

Our Lions had the chance to celebrate Earth Day in the most meaningful way - by receiving a tree of their own to plant! Thanks to our friends at Neighborhood Forest, families were able to register for a free tree to plant 🌱! It's been said, "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
