Practice might not make perfect, but it sure helps you win medals! These two have been working so hard - perfecting their shots and honing their strategies, but more importantly, learning how to work together as a team. Congrats to our medal winning Mixed Doubles team at tonight's CK Elementary Badminton Series🏅Thank you to the organizers and to our coaches❤️🩶

🏒It must be March! Time for the annual Victor Lauriston floor hockey tournament🏒 ✨Thanks to our outstanding volunteers, former VL staff, Mr & Mrs Cleeve and Mr & Mrs Koehler, our gym was filled with the raucous sounds of excitement, the deafening cheers and a few sighs of defeat. 🎉 Students from K-8 have been playing all week to get to today's Staff vs. Student match up - with the Staff victorious, yet again🏆 Maybe next year Lion Cubs!

Our Senior Girls took over the court at JMSS last night for the AA Finals, and let’s just say it was a battle.

While Queen Elizabeth came out swinging and built a gap in the first quarter that was harder to close than a suitcase on the last day of vacation, our girls never stopped hunting for that comeback. The scoreboard might not have gone our way this time, but the hustle? Off the charts. 📈

Let’s look at the "Stat Sheet" that really matters:
League Play: 1st Place (Yeah, they’re kind of a big deal). 🏆
Work Ethic: 100% since day one.
Intimidation Factor: High.
Future: Extremely bright.

We are incredibly proud of this squad. They fought hard, played fair, and proved why they were the ones to beat all season long. Head high, ladies—you’ve had a phenomenal run!

🎓 Future Leaders in the Making!
Our Grade 5 students officially leveled up today! After six weeks of hard work, they’ve officially graduated from the VIP (Values, Influences, and Peers) Program.

Through this journey, our students dived deep into what it takes to be a great citizen, focusing on:
✨ Solid Values: Building a strong foundation for every decision.
🌟 Positive Influences: Learning how to choose the right mentors and path.
🤝 True Friendship: Understanding the power of being (and having) a good friend.

A massive thank you to the Chatham Kent Police for facilitating these vital lessons and the Optimist Club of Chatham for their incredible support. We are so proud of our students and can’t wait to see them put these values into action!

The fog had interrupted our plans! Not only are buses cancelled this morning, the trip to the Curling Club has also been cancelled today. Don't worry though, buses will run this afternoon and we'll work on rescheduling the curling trip. Stay safe out there!

The Olympics may be over but we have done world class winners right here at Victor Lauriston. Congratulations to the winners of the annual Public Speaking contest! Representing their classes, from Kindergarten to Grade 8, we were entertained, informed and educated! Confidence and courage were in tall order and these 5 students sure delivered!

It was a big day for our grade 8's as they took one more step towards high school. Students met with the JMSS Student Success team to discuss course selection, extra curricular interests and have another opportunity to ask them questions about high school. Our students are so fortunate to have the chance to sit down for these one-on-one intake meetings, thanks to Mr Reagan and Mrs Terry for all you're doing to make this transition warm and welcoming.
