Our staff and students came together to celebrate Halloween, a day full of creativity, laughter, and community spirit! From colourful costumes to classroom activities, everyone had the chance to take part in ways that felt fun, comfortable, and true to them.
We love seeing our school community come together to celebrate traditions in inclusive and caring ways where every student feels welcome and valued.

🌽Our October school-wide cooking activity was Team taught by our language teachers Ms. Plain and Ms. Hope.
🌽The Three Sisters Soup is rooted in an Iroquois legend and a traditional Native American farming practice. It's a complete nutritional meal with carbohydrates from the corn, protein from the beans, and essential vitamins & minerals from the squash.
🌽This soup is a traditional Native American recipe that combines the three main crops of the Three Sisters.
🌽 Similar to a family, these vegetables help each other grow!

Queen Elizabeth students pick apples for local food banks
Students from Queen Elizabeth School in Sarnia visited Macklin Farms to pick 30 bushels of Royal Gala apples, which were then purchased by the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia Lambton Golden K and donated.
Forty-four students from Queen Elizabeth School in Sarnia had a firsthand opportunity to learn where apples come from on Thursday when they visited Macklin Farms and helped pick apples for local charities.
The Grade 2 and 3 classes, assisted by members of the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia Lambton Golden K and other community volunteers, picked 30 bushels of Royal Gala apples in about an hour.
Hosts Joel and Bruce Macklin provided the students with a tour of the market store and a hike around the farm following the picking.
The visit was organized by Golden K member John McPhedran along with teachers Ms. Fraser and Ms. Gibson, who presented the Macklins with a thank you card.
The apples were purchased by the Golden K club and delivered primarily to the Inn of the Good Shepherd for its Mobile Market program. Apples were also taken to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, High Park School, and P.E. McGibbon School, and each student was able to take a couple of apples home.
