🚌✨ Safety First! All of our students took part in bus evacuation training. 🚦 They learned the importance of following bus rules, practiced safe loading and unloading, and reviewed how to respond in case of an emergency. A big thank you to our drivers and staff for guiding our students through this important learning experience! 🙌

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Orange Shirt Day – September 30th

In honouring and remembering those impacted by residential schools, LKDSB had commissioned a new orange shirt design in 2021. Orange shirts are available for order by interested staff and students from Team Outfitters, a company in Sarnia. Outfitters has created an online store for LKDSB orders, therefore staff and families will submit payment online directly to Screenart.

https://teamoutfitters.net/collections/lkdsb-every-child-matters

The store is open immediately for purchases, and will remain open until Sunday, September 7. All shirts ordered will be delivered to the schools via the board courier by September 29th.

CLASS is thrilled to announce the launch of Chipmunk, a new parent / guardian user-centric bus tracking, delay & cancellation app. It is available free on the app stores, and it replaces the current MySBI app.

Chipmunk provides parents with accurate information about their student's bus route using GPS technology. With Chipmunk, parents will be able to quickly and efficiently access their students’ bus information. Chipmunk allows parents to:

-See the location and travel direction of the school bus on a live map as it makes its way to the specific pickup or drop-off spot – for any of their students.
-Know the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the school bus at their pickup / drop-off stop location. This is especially helpful for those parents who have multiple students on different buses going to different schools. For each student, the ETA is provided in both the number of minutes and actual expected arrival time.
-Receive instant messaging regarding any service delays or cancellations impacting your student's bus route or school to help keep you informed.

🥗Our QE May Cooking Activity was a garden salad. Every class in our school participated. Eating a rainbow of vegetables is a healthy habit we want to encourage in every child. Next week each class will blend up a Smoothie! 🥛🍌🍓 We are grateful for the tremendous support from President Choice Children's Charity which has enabled us to do these amazing whole school food enrichment activities! 💚 #KidsWhoEatWellDoWell #LKDSB #PowerFullKids #GoodFoodHelpsYoungMindsGrow

Staff, students, and families from Queen Elizabeth and Lansdowne Public Schools came together today for a meaningful Water Walk to raise awareness about the global need for clean water. Students carried copper buckets filled with water, symbolizing the constant movement and precious nature of this vital resource. A special thank-you to Ms. Plain and Ms. George for thoughtfully planning and organizing this powerful cultural experience.
