7) The boys' soccer defeated Pain Court 1-0 yesterday. Through very windy conditions, the team did a great job controlling play. Brennan S made several huge saves leading to his first shutout of the season. Paul V scored the only goal of the game. With the win, the boys find themselves in a 3 way tie for first at the half way mark of the season. Great work so far this season!
8) Special Olympics Floorball - Yesterday our Special Olympics Floorball team travelled to Northern to compete in the Special Olympics Ontario Floorball qualifiers. Our team finished the day with 2 big wins and 1 close loss. Emma S stood on her head in the net and didn't let anything past. Nate W led the entire tournament in scoring as he netted at least 10 goals throughout the day. Quinton B and Lucas S both played all around defense and offense, not allowing anyone to get a clear shot on net while also contributing with multiple goals and assists. Dylan T was the ultimate team manager as he yelled at the team the entire day to keep playing as hard as they could. It was a really fun tournament and the team represented our school well! Great work team! (Mr. King)
9) Good morning Eagle Sports Fans! Your mighty Sr. Girls soccer team extended their winning streak to 4 yesterday with a 1-0 win over Pain Court. Lily H scored part way through the second half for your Eagles. Paige P battled very windy conditions but made some great saves late to get the shutout. Abby R controlled the play in the mid field with her great passes and Delaney A shut down the Pain Court offence. Great game girls! Our next game is Thursday at home vs. Chatham Christian. (Mr. Wilson)
10) Yearbooks are for sale for $45 through School Cash Online. (Mrs. Smit)
11) Today is the last day of April. With food prices up, hunger up, it would make sense that we avoid throwing out and wasting food. April 30th is STOP FOOD WASTE day. East what you bring. Eat what you buy. Keep the seagulls and rats unhappy. Help your parents save money too, unless you want to give to people in need. (Mr. Tichenoff)
