The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is saddened by the act of hate that occurred at the University of Waterloo on Wednesday, June 28 2023. Our thoughts go to the victims of this Homophobic and Transphobic attack and to the entire 2SLGBTQIA+ community. These events remind us that Ontario learning institutions uphold the Ontario Human Rights Code and need to be places that promote inclusivity and acceptance, and are safe spaces for all.
In solidarity with the University of Waterloo and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, the LKDSB will fly the Progressive Pride Flag at all locations, from July 1st until the end of day on July 6th. We cannot tolerate gender-based violence and all forms of hate.
