Chatham-Kent Lambton Administrative School Services (CLASS) has been notified by the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) and St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB) that members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Locals 1238 & 4168 have joined their colleagues across the province in implementing labour sanctions against Ontario school boards, in a legal strike, which has resulted in the partial withdrawal of services, effective Monday, September 30, 2019.
At LKDSB and SCCDSB, CUPE represents a number of education workers in schools, including secretaries, custodians, educational assistants, early childhood educators, library and computer technicians, among others.
LKDSB and SCCDB are committed to safe and healthy learning environments for their students.
Due to the implications of this strike, all indoor and outdoor Community Use of Schools permits at LKDSB and SCCDSB schools and facilities will be cancelled until further notice, beginning Oct. 2, 2019.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your patience and understanding. For updates, as they become available, please visit https://cklass.ca/services/community-use-of-schools/.
