TAPS is running a canned and non-perishable food drive for Goodfellows from Dec 1–12, and we’re aiming for 1,500+ items to support local families this holiday season. Each day has a fun theme (Taco Tuesday, Snack Attack, Macaroni Monday, Toy Thursday and more), but any shelf-stable donations are welcome on any day. The class that brings in the most items will win a pizza party, so let’s fill those boxes and show how much our school community cares.

Registering your child for Kindergarten is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. Find your school.
2. Complete the online registration form @ www.lkdsb.net/kindergarten in advance.
3. Come and meet our caring staff on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and Friday, January 30, 2026 from 9:00am – 3:00 pm.
Remember to bring:
• Birth certificate or proof of Canadian Citizenship or Residency Status (if appropriate)
• Proof of residency (e.g., utility or tax bill, lease/rental agreement, etc.)
• Your child
This Friday is 🥸Movember Day, and we’re turning the school into a moustache museum!
Stick on a moustache, draw one on, craft one from paper, felt, or pipe cleaners—if it makes you giggle, it’s perfect.
Students and staff are encouraged to rock their wildest whiskers to help shine a light on men’s health and Movember.
Let’s fill the halls with silly staches, big smiles, and kind conversations!
The Ontario Ministry of Education asks all school boards to conduct anonymous school climate surveys on a regular basis to help schools:
Assess perceptions of safety, mental health, and well-being from students, parents/caregivers, and school staff
Make informed planning decisions to promote safe and inclusive school environments
Evaluate the effectiveness of current programs
Build and sustain a positive school climate
Continue to strengthen parent/guardian voice in school communities
The Lambton Kent District School Board is required to conduct school climate surveys of students, staff, and parents/caregivers at least once every two years, as each group plays a key role in shaping a safe and welcoming school environment.
We invite you, as a parent/caregiver of an LKDSB student, to visit your child’s school website or the LKDSB main website and follow the School Climate Survey link to participate. Your feedback helps us build and sustain a positive school climate within your school community.

The "VIP Program" in Chatham-Kent refers to a community policing initiative for grade 5 students called Values, Influences and Peers (V.I.P.), which is run by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. The program is designed to teach students about important issues like drug awareness and bullying.

Wear BLUE for World Diabetes Day! 💙
Let’s unite as a school community to show our support for everyone affected by diabetes—students, staff, and families—by wearing blue on November 14th for World Diabetes Day. This year’s theme is “Diabetes and Well-being,” reminding us that diabetes impacts not just our bodies, but our minds and emotions too. By wearing blue, we help raise awareness, fight stigma, and spread compassion for those managing diabetes every day. Thank you for helping us create a supportive and caring environment!

taking place Thursday evening, November 20 and Friday morning, November 21.
When signing up, please remember to include both your name and your child’s name so teachers can easily match appointments.

Our grade 6 students went up town to the Cenotaph to observe the Legion Remembrance Day ceremony.

A huge thank you to Chad Solomon for sharing his incredible storytelling skills and bringing Rabbit and Bear Paws to life for us! The stories—rooted in Indigenous teachings—were filled with laughter, learning, and such heart. The interactive puppet show not only entertained, but also opened up meaningful conversations about tradition, respect, and community. We are so grateful for the experience and the chance to share the joy (and giggles!) with our group. Thank you, Chad, for reminding us that laughter truly is the best medicine and that everyone, young or old, can learn from a good story. Meegwetch!
Lots of fun activities and events yesterday at TAPS!
What an inspiring day! Our Grade 7 and 8 students had the incredible opportunity to explore over 140 skilled trades at the Level Up Skilled Trades Fair. From hands-on activities to talking with real tradespeople, students learned first-hand about exciting future career paths in construction, technology, service, and more.
