Student Nutrition

The Ontario Student Nutrition Program provides students with free, nutritious snacks, breakfasts, and lunches to support their learning and overall well‑being.

This program is available in our school and community locations across Ontario and is open to all children and youth.

Thanks to generous donations from Kiwanis, fundraising, grant opportunities and Ontario Student Nutrition Program funding, Northern is able to provide healthy snacks for our students, accessible in the library. Approximately ¼ of Northern's student body rely on snacks provided by this program monthly.

Snacks are served twice a day from 8:00am-8:20am and during lunchtime (11:05-11:40 am). Snacks are located in the library and also are available to students upon request outside of serving times.

Snacks available adhere to the OSNP regulations and include fresh fruit, whole grain crackers, cheese, muffins, multigrain cereal, apple sauce, hummus and milk.

Northern's snack program is critical to the health and well-being of our students and relies on the generosity of our community. We gladly accept donations of individually packaged food items or a monetary donation.

If you wish to donate, please contact our administrative staff at 519-542-5545 or parents may contribute through SchoolCashOnline.
