This past weekend approximately 850 schools competed at the OFSAA Track and Field Championships. The event itself showcases around 3000 student-athletes who qualify through regional meets across Ontario. We had three students qualify and move on to OFSAA, Josh S, Arlee R, and Arie R. Josh S. placed 9th overall on the 900m, Arie R came in 9th in junior men's pole vault, and Arlee R came in 21st in the girls novice 400 m which is an amazing achievement for all three considering they were up against everyone in the province that has also excelled at such a high level. Congratulations to all! Thanks to our team, the coaches and also Jackpot time for their sponsorship for equipping the team! We hope to see everyone back next season!

Today, NLSS recognized all students that took part in sports in the 2025/2026 school year. Almost 50% of the school population of students is involved at least one sport. Each team was recognized and the top athletes of the year were selected from the entire group.
North Lambton was also honoured today to welcome Tyler McGregor, Forest's own captain of the Canadian national para hockey team. Tyler led Canada to a silver medal finish in the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. Tyler described what sports has meant to him and how it allowed him to get through his battle with cancer when he was younger. As a NLSS alumni we hope his message resonated with our students.
Congratulations to all of our athletes, we hope to see many of you back again next year!

NLSS would like to thank everyone for their generous donations to Relay for Life today! Our students did an amazing job of organizing, fundraising and putting the event together. Overall more than $40 000 was raised for the Canadian Cancer Society. The team with the highest amount raised got to pour buckets of ice water on the heads of their Principals! Students walked many miles today in support of finding a cure for cancer.
Thanks to all staff that also stayed to help organize the event and help out with the activities.
