Our Pet Appreciation Day at Lakeroad was a HUGE success!
Our students enjoyed presentations about the following pets :
Labradoodle, ShihTzu, Basset Hound, hamster, chicken, geckos and a bearded dragon.
Many thanks to all of our presenters who made this day possible.
This special event paid tribute to our former Lakeroad teacher, Mrs. Kedwell, who brought in a variety of creatures to enrich her students’ learning.
Throughout the day, students engaged in various pet or animal themed learning activities.
Today’s Track and Field school meet at Northern for our Grade 4-8 students is cancelled due to weather conditions. We will provide an update as soon as we have more details.
The LKDSB ABA team is excited to share that they will be offering their Summer Connections Camps for students again this year!

Congratulations Lakeroad, we did it!! We not only met but surpassed our fundraising goal of $2,000 for Jump Rope for Heart! The sun was shining, the students were active, having fun and there were smiles all around. Thank you to Mrs. Clarke and the organizing crew for another great event for a worthy cause.
During Education Week students have been exploring a very large Canadian Geographic People's Atlas of Canada map through a variety activities. The map measures 11 by 8 metres and travels to LKDSB schools for students to deepen their understanding of Indigenous history and more.

The last day to purchase milk cards is May 16th. This ensures all cards can be used before the end of the school year. All funds raised from milk sales will go towards Learning & School Initiatives for the students at Lakeroad.

Mark your calendars! From May 26 - May 30 all "Soup Loop Combos" purchased from Soup's Up will help School Council raise funds for the Gr. 8 Graduation. When ordering be sure to mention the order is for Lakeroad's Soup Loop Fundraiser!
