Now that everyone seems to be settling nicely into their school routines, we are officially transitioning to our "Kiss and Drop" morning arrival procedure starting Monday, September 21. This routine ensures a smooth, secure start to the day while maintaining privacy and confidentiality across our school community.
• Kiss and Drop Routine: Please drop your child off at the designated drop-off zone, give a quick good-bye and then exit the yard.
• Staff Assistance: If your child is feeling anxious or needs extra support, please hand them off directly to one of our outdoor supervision staff, who will gladly assist them.
• Staff Communication: To protect student privacy and keep staff focused on supervising all arriving students, drop-off is not a time for discussions with staff. Please use your usual communication channels (e.g., phone call, email, or school messaging app) to relay messages or arrange a time to talk.
• Regional Policy: This procedure aligns with standard arrival practices across other Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) schools in the area.

Milk Cards are now available to order on SchoolCash Online. We offer white and chocolate, delivered daily to classes. All funds raised from milk sales will go towards Learning & School Initiatives for the students at Lakeroad.

🍎 A BIG thank you to the Ontario Student Nutrition Program (OSNP) and President’s Choice Children’s Charity for supporting our snack program this year.
From fresh fruit and vegetables to yogurt, cheese, and muffins, the program provided nutritious options that students looked forward to each day.
A special thank you to our Gr. 7/8 students who helped distribute the snack bins every afternoon from September to June! 🍓🥕🍇

⚾ What a game! Our annual Staff vs. Grade 8 Baseball Game was filled with school spirit, teamwork, and friendly competition. The staff came in hoping to extend their winning streak, but this year the Grade 8s came away with the victory! Congratulations to our Grade 8 champions! 🏆🎉

The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire bard came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.

The Lakeroad Track & Field team competed on Wednesday, June 10 at Great Lakes Secondary School against LKDSB schools in the Sarnia area. We had great performances including 11 athletes who qualified to compete in Districts on June 16. Lakeroad also had 5 medal winners who won Individual Champion honours 🥇 in their division. Congratulations and good luck at the LKDSB District level! 🦁

Planning is well under way for LKDSB’s Summer Connection Camps, facilitated by our summer student staff and supported by our ABA and Mental Health teams. All LKDSB students are welcome to attend Summer Connection camps at no cost at a time and location that is convenient for them. Interest in these courses can be indicated on the registration form found by following the QR code or clicking the link on the flyer.
