On Thursday March 6th John Mcgregor once again hosted the Special olympics Ontario Regional Bocce Ball Qualifier. With over 50 athletes attending annually, it is Chatham’s best attended Special Olympics event. John Mcgregor had 4 teams competing with many teams finding a lot of success on the court. The day was filled with lots of smiles, fun, and delicious pizza, generously provided to all athletes and volunteers by JEM Roofing and Exteriors. A special thank you to Ms. Barr’s Leadership class who spent many hours over the last month planning the event, and volunteering on the day to ensure it went off without a hitch.

Today, LKDSB staff teamed up with our amazing partners at CK Public Health and the Ontario Student Nutrition Program - Southwest Region to serve up a delicious grilled cheese and carrot sticks combo for the awesome students at John McGregor Secondary School! 🥕🍞
This tasty treat was part of ONSP Chatham-Kent's week-long Community Awareness Campaign and is a great way for community partners to connect and see the incredible OSNP-supported programs and events happening in schools across our community. ❤️
Fourteen students successfully completed their forklift training and earned their forklift driver's license as part of their SHSM Certification. Our Panthers demonstrated their skills while driving through the slalom course with the Class 4 forklift.
Our Grade 9 Science classes used their knowledge and creativity during a STEM Challenge today. Our Panthers were successful as they problem-solved using skills in engineering, design and sustainability.
Our NTS students are rehearsing for their performance at the Capital Theatre on March 24th, 2025. Come and support our Panthers! Tickets can be purchased through the Capital Theatre's website.

On Wednesday, 18 JMSS students in grade 9, 10, and 11 wrote the University of Waterloo Math Contest. The contest is made up of questions that test logical thinking and mathematical problem-solving.
