Our grade 4/5-8 High Park Panthers were truly grateful for the opportunity to hear from residential school survivor Lila, who generously shared her story, wisdom, and lived experiences with us.
Our students asked many thoughtful questions as they sought to understand more.
Her words remind us that education is about more than learning history; it is about listening with open hearts, honouring the experiences of others, and taking responsibility for building a more compassionate and inclusive future.

Friday, October 30, is our next Panther Spirit Day!
Our Panthers from JK to Grade 8 enjoyed an engaging bus safety presentation. Older students participated in the Rider Role Model presentation, and all students had the opportunity to practise safely evacuating a school bus.
Students were reminded that safety is a shared responsibility and that our school and community partners work together to keep everyone safe!

This Fire Prevention Week, we encourage all students and families to talk about fire safety at home, practise a home fire escape plan, check smoke alarms, and make sure everyone knows what to do in an emergency.
