Here is the latest version of the Mental Health and Wellness; March edition.
This Friday, March 13th, is going to be a Spirit Day for the books.
Seeing that Down Syndrome Awareness Day falls on March 21st and that is over March Break, we want to show our awareness and support ahead of the break. Additionally, to have some fun in anticipation of the March Break, we have determined that students are encouraged to wear what they would like or what is reflective of how they will be spending their break.
This might mean they are wearing PJs and comfy clothes and relaxing at home. This could be a cold-weather destination for some Winter fun before the season is over. Or, it could be beach gear if they are planning or wanting to think of a tropical vacation.
Please remember that whatever choice your child(ren) makes, their attire needs to be school appropriate.
We are looking forward to the creativity that our students always display.

We wanted to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers who helped in the process today. As well, thank you to all who made the time to get the orders picked up between the designated time periods. Finally, thank you to all who supported the fundraising campaign. We really appreciate you! ❤️

When a Grade 2 makes this proposal, there is no reason not to follow through. So, from now on, each Wednesday will be known as Wildcat Wednesday and we are encouraging all students, staff and family members to proudly wear their Wildcat spirit wear!

Our students, with the help of their families, sold over $17,000 worth of pizza kits and cookie dough. 🥳 The class with top combined sales won a pizza party. 🍕The three individual fund raisers go the chance to throw a whip cream pie in the principal's face! 🥧Check out how that went down! Our top student fundraiser brought in over $850 worth of sales! 💵🤯

Rare Disease Day is a quadrennial event, happening on February 29th (when it is a leap year) or otherwise on February 28th. Seeing that February 28th is a Saturday this year, we are encouraging students, staff and community members to wear their blue to show their support for rare diseases. There are nationwide events focused on awareness, equity in care, and lighting up landmarks such as the CN Tower (#LightUpForRare).
👚Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25th, is Pink Shirt Day. 👚
Beginning in 2007 at a high school in Berwick, Nova Scotia, Pink Shirt Day first occurred. Two students noticed that their fellow student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, and wondered how they could support them. They decided to stand in solidarity with the student and to stand up to the bullies by wearing pink shirts. Since then, the last Wednesday in February is known annually as Pink Shirt Day!
We hope to see as many people as possible showing that they support this movement by wearing their pink shirts tomorrow!

Our students have created artwork to show their support and cheer on the Canadian Women's Olympic Hockey team as they battle the USA in the Gold Medal game!
I feel like a broken record, two times in just three days, but again this morning, buses are cancelled due to fog. Buses will bring students home from school this afternoon if they are able to get to school safely.
