As Black History Month comes to a close, we want to celebrate, and give thanks. This bulletin board of Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks reminds us of the extraordinary strength, courage, and resilience required to stand up for justice and create lasting change. Their bravery continues to inspire generations to lead with conviction, compassion, and purpose. Throughout this month — and every month — we honor the countless contributions of the Black community: the lessons of perseverance, the power of unity, the importance of using our voices, and the unwavering belief that progress is possible.

This week students learned how to make shakers! Miigwech to our Ojibwe teacher for organizing, our special guest for teaching, and the LKDSB for ensuring these opportunities are available for students.

Our snack program wouldn't happen without volunteers and ONSP. Our student volunteers make sure each class gets their bins, our staff volunteer does all the shopping, school council runs fundraisers for it, and ONSP covers the majority of the costs! All food purchased for the bins must meet a high quality nutritional standard. Miigwech, Merci, and thank you to all involved!

On Wednesday, Hanna Huskies proudly wore pink to stand together for kindness. 💗 At Hanna School, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected. Pink Shirt Day reminds us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Let’s continue to choose compassion, lift each other up, and show what it truly means to be a Husky. 🐾

Students are showing off their creative side with a special message today. It was a long process to make these but the outcome is great!

Huskies will wear the buttons they created tomorrow to spread an important message! (Teachers will give them out in the morning)

It is baking time! The students have been earning their cake raffle tickets through showing perseverance the last 4 weeks. If you want to make a donation to the raffle, please drop it off on Friday morning at the front doors.

Not sure who’s getting the workout here… but teamwork makes the Huskies go faster 🐾 When Huskies support Huskies, everybody wins… and maybe breaks a sweat 😄

Working on multiplying by foundational numbers (2,5,10) will help our students when they move to multiplying by (3,4,6,7,8,9). How much does it cost per bag? Word of the year in LKDSB math classrooms: PER! Try to use it with your children to support multiplicative reasoning! P.S. Don't let the question trick you... Candy grams are really only $2 per bag!

It’s DEAR Day (drop everything and read) and Dress as Your Favourite Book Character Day! These brothers chose Garfield—lover of naps, comfort, and taking it easy with a good book 📖😴 Sounds like the perfect reading day to us!

The Huskies learned about bullying from the police perspective today. Students who attended were given homework: tell your parents what you learned and teach your parents something from today. Our partnership with the Sarnia Police is appreciated and benefitting our students!

Our Ojibwe and French classes teamed up today for snowshoeing (la raquette)!

Due to inclement weather across the district, ALL Lambton Kent District School Board schools will be closed for Thursday, January 15, 2026. Please stay safe.
