🎉 Lost & Found Party! 🎉
So many coats, hats, and sweaters decided to hang out together at school and forgot to go home! 😅 Take a look at the photos to see if your child’s favorite thing joined the fun — and help us send these items back where they belong! 💼💕

“Better late than never—our Halloween spirit still has a few tricks (and treats) left! 🎃👻”

🍎 Huge thanks to Scouts Canada, our generous donor, and our amazing resource teacher for bringing fresh apples to our school — leading to full bellies, fun learning, and delicious homemade apple crisp and applesauce that students couldn’t get enough of! 🍏🍂

Great learning happens when curiosity leads the way! 🌟 By connecting student interests and questions to the curriculum, teachers spark deeper learning and engagement. 📚✨

Even with all the learning, there is still fun to be had at school!

Rain or shine, our Hanna Huskies hit the course with heart! 🏃♂️🌧️ Huge shoutout to our dedicated runners and amazing coach for braving the wet and wild cross country day — true Husky spirit on full display! 💙

🎓 We couldn't be more #LKDSBProud of Superintendent Ben Hazzard, who leads LKDSB’s Elementary Program, on earning his Doctorate in Education from the Western University! His research is helping strengthen early literacy supports and student success across the district!

Look at that proud smile! One of our students is excited to show off the class’s amazing work with “ch” words like chip, chop, and chick. Through phonics lessons, our learners are building strong decoding skills—an important part of the Ontario Language Curriculum. An essential step in becoming confident, independent readers.

Our students are turning words into wonders with a little help from AI! This masterpiece? All cake. Literally. His monster is made of chocolate cake — talk about a sweet nightmare. 🍰👹

Check out the recess colouring club! Students organized their own recess fun!

Thanks School Council for advocating for a safer area for our students to travel to and from school!

Tomorrow is the day to show your spirit and support our favourite Canadian baseball team! Wear blue and white to root for the Toronto Blue Jays!

🍂☀️ Teachers know how to make the most of both sunshine and school time! Whether it’s a math lesson on the playground or reading under a tree, they’re turning golden weather into golden learning moments. 📚💛

Recognizing the quantity 5 instantly—whether on fingers or a ten frame—strengthens subitizing skills, a foundational concept in early numeracy. This ability supports mental math, number sense, and more advanced arithmetic understanding. Parents can boost their child’s math success by practicing quick visual recognition of numbers like 5 in everyday moments.
