🌟 Celebrating Black History Month at LKDSB 🌟
Every February, we reflect on the incredible achievements and contributions of Black Canadians. But at LKDSB, we believe in celebrating Black history year-round. Our educators bring Black history, voices, and perspectives into classrooms every day, fostering understanding and respect for the cultural contributions that have shaped our world.
This February, join us as we shine a spotlight on events, lessons, and activities across our Board to honour the lasting legacy of Black Canadians. It’s an opportunity for students, families, and communities to learn, celebrate, and be inspired by the remarkable individuals who’ve shaped our past—and continue to shape our future.
We invite you to explore the rich history of Black Canadians, including the powerful stories from our own local communities. Together, let’s build a more inclusive, compassionate, and prosperous Canada, today and every day!✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

Our FDK program is driven by students' interests. This little guy loves music and beluga whales. His interests sparked a class investigation into Arctic Sea Creatures. And, the creation of an awesome performance captured by the teacher using a green screen. Check out his video here: https://youtu.be/lQnh7hirL70

Our FDK students are interested in ramp building right now! Check out this creation! Future Engineer!
