In addition to the winter games, our Grade 4-8 students formed a watch party, in the Learning Commons, to cheer on Canada's Men's Hockey Team during Nutrition Break!

GDPS took full advantage of this great Canadian winter with outdoor games! Getting active through sled races, hockey, broomball, curling, snow soccer, tug of war, snow fort building and even an outdoor dance floor warmed our bodies and hearts! Thank you Madame Wallace and Mr. Schoger for making the Olympics and French Carnival come to life for us!

Today, classrooms were challenged to create a sculpture that represented the themes of Canadian culture, the Winter Olympics and/or Winter Carnival.

Congratulations to our Grizzlies, who represented GDPS, as North Side took on South Side in the Chatham All-Star Basketball games! Special thanks to Tim Mavor, who organized the event, as well as to the sponsors, coaches, referees, announcers, etc. who made this evening possible!

Thank you Madame, Mr. Schoger, Mr. Halwachs, and all of our Grade 8 Grizzly Guides for starting our morning off right! It wouldn't be French Carnival Week without Beaver Tails & Hot Chocolate!

Gregory Drive kicked off its Winter Olympics-French Carnival Week! An exciting video, torch lighting, Olympic trivia game - and a tug of war between two beloved mascots - were just a few of the fun activities included in this afternoon's opening ceremony!

Attention Grade 8 students and families!

This week in the Learning Commons, students were practising their coding skills with Code and Go, Mouse Robots.

Due to inclement weather across the district, ALL Lambton Kent District School Board schools will be closed for Thursday, January 15, 2026. Please stay safe.

Everyone has mental health. Mental health refers to how we feel, think, and act. Positive mental health allows us to enjoy life, manage stress, and cope with challenges. Just like our physical health, learning about it, understanding it, and taking care of it is important. Check out the following link from School Mental Health Ontario on Understanding Mental Health.

Don't Forget!

The "Pesky Penguins" production was second to none! Well done actors! Special thanks to the Grade 8 Sound & Lights Crew, Mr. Mackenzie and Mrs. K. Jackson for their tireless efforts, and to families for helping your children prepare and supporting their love of the arts!

Huge thank-you to CKSS for inviting our Grade 6 Students to check out all the exciting opportunities offered at CK for Skilled Trades. Students had a great time and got to think about their future career goals.

All of our performers sure showed "penguinality!" Our penguins have definitely learned that cooperation and togetherness bring out the joy of the holiday season!

The GDPS annual holiday performance was spectacular! What an amazing opening act by our FDK students and beautiful singing by the Grade 1 - Grade 3 Choir!

A big thank you to the CKSS Band and Choir for their wonderful performance yesterday. We truly appreciate you sharing your talents, engaging our students, and inspiring them to pursue music and the arts as they grow older.
Feasting with friends! The Grade 8's certainly created the perfect ambience with their table decor, lights and music!

Our Grizzlies thoroughly enjoyed today's holiday feast! Thank you to Mr. Halwachs and School Council for making this happen.
