As part of a community initiative, Nest Realty Inc. is collecting gently used prom and grad dresses, suits, dress shirts, shoes, and accessories for a special weekend event called Fit Check: The Grad & Prom Edit. During this weekend event, registered students can come and choose an outfit at no cost for the upcoming graduation and prom celebrations. The goal is to help remove some of the financial pressure and make sure students can show up feeling confident and proud. To find out more information regarding how to donate or register for this experience, look at the graphics attached to this post.
Thank you, Nest Realty Inc., for supporting students and ensuring they have a memorable day.

Most of us feel anxious at times. It is normal and expected for your child to feel anxious sometimes as well. For example, your child may worry before a presentation or may feel nervous about making new friends on the first day of school. Low levels of anxiety can even be helpful—they can improve focus, problem-solving skills, and help us recognize potential dangers. However, if your child’s anxiety becomes more intense or frequent, it may affect their ability to participate in everyday activities at school or at home. This could indicate a mental health problem that needs additional support. The following resource, from School Mental Health Ontario, was developed to help parents and caregivers understand anxiety, what it is, when it may become problematic, and how and where to seek support if needed.

GDPS took full advantage of this great Canadian winter with outdoor games! Getting active through sled races, hockey, broomball, curling, snow soccer, tug of war, snow fort building and even an outdoor dance floor warmed our bodies and hearts! Thank you Madame Wallace and Mr. Schoger for making the Olympics and French Carnival come to life for us!

Everyone has mental health. Mental health refers to how we feel, think, and act. Positive mental health allows us to enjoy life, manage stress, and cope with challenges. Just like our physical health, learning about it, understanding it, and taking care of it is important. Check out the following link from School Mental Health Ontario on Understanding Mental Health.
