Week one is in the books! It was amazing to see all of the exciting faces light up our hallways, classrooms, and playground. We can't wait for the year ahead. Great work Grizzlies!
Don't forget that our volunteer policy has changed this school year. Beginning in September 2026, in accordance with the Police Record Checks Reform Act, Gregory Drive Public School will require all prospective volunteers to submit a valid Police Record Check before participating as a volunteer at the school.
A volunteer is a person who performs a designated task that supports a student, classroom, school, or board initiative but receives no compensation for doing so. As it pertains to Gregory Drive Public School, this would include volunteer drivers, volunteer coaches, field trip chaperones, food day and nutrition program volunteers, individuals who volunteer to support classroom programming, individuals who support school events, etc.
We deeply value the incredible dedication, diverse talents, and warmth that our families and community members bring to our school. It is through your support that we can create a vibrant, encouraging environment where our students can truly thrive.

Every year, we look forward to meeting our new Grizzlies and their families, as well as welcoming our returning Grizzlies for a new school year. The information presented in the attached images is being provided to address common questions and provide essential information for the upcoming school year.
We know that the end of the school year is a busy time and that things such as next year's school supply list could easily be misplaced or thrown out by accident. Just in case you need it as you prepare your students for back-to-school, here is a copy.

The excitement is building! In just one week, students will return to Gregory Drive Public School for the 2026-2027 school year, and we couldn’t be more excited! Our staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms and the school for another year of learning, growth, and fun.
We would like to give a special welcome to the families and students joining us for the first time. We’re thrilled to have you with us and are here to make your transition smooth and welcoming.

The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire bard came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.
