🚌 Student transportation is cancelled for the day in zones 7 & 8.
⚠️ Secondary students: All Exams/Final Evaluations that were scheduled for Friday, January, 23rd will take place on Tuesday, January 27th if the buses are running tomorrow. This applies to all secondary schools.

We are currently monitoring a weather system, as reported by Environment Canada, that is projected to bring significant snowfall to the Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent regions on Sunday, January 25, 2026, with the potential to continue into Monday, January 26, 2026. To support students, families, and staff in planning ahead, the LKDSB is proactively sharing our exam-continuity plan should school buses be cancelled anywhere in the district on Monday, January 26.
Please note: Decisions will NOT be made on a school‑by‑school basis.
If buses are cancelled in any zone within the LKDSB, the entire district will follow the same plan outlined below.
Decision Timing
The decision regarding bus cancellations will be made early Monday morning in collaboration with CLASS Student Transportation Services, our transportation partners.
The outcome will be communicated to all families and staff as soon as it is confirmed.

We also loved seeing the creative work from Visual Arts, Clothing/Fashion, and Comm Tech through their videos and displays. Thank you to Music Society for organizing, running, and MCing the event.
It was so great to see so many families and friends cheering everyone on. Thanks for coming out to support our talented students in the showcase of their culminating activities!

The semi professional women's football team, the Detroit Prowl, were in Chatham to sign C.K.S.S.' Cheyenne Foster. Cheyenne played for C.K.S.S. this past season. We are proud and excited for Cheyenne to have this experience and looking forward to seeing her excel on the field in the spring!
The grade 10 drama class is preparing to perform for elementary students on Monday. Break a leg!
C.K.S.S. students were able to spend time with with the St. John Ambulance therapy dogs today to help relieve some stress as they prepare for final evaluations and culminating activities!

More incredible Grade 10 Foods Gingerbread decorating taking place!
Gr. 10 Foods classes enjoyed a week of Gingerbread House making: baking dough, rolling it out and cutting perfect pieces, whipping together "Royal Icing" to help glue their house together, and then finally decorating them! Happy Holidays!
The Gr. 12 Yearbook class welcomed back professional photographer Richard Beland, to instruct the class on portrait and studio lighting, with hands on experience and camera use.
Mrs. Fryer's Grade 12 foods classes wanted some friendly competition this week, so they competed in the first ever "Great Cookie Challenge". Each kitchen in all three classes prepared a different recipe - we had everything from classic sugar cookies and gingerbread to chocolate chip to peppermint white chocolate. So much creativity - and sugar - was seen in the classroom this week! Well done, everyone!
Mrs. Walters and Mrs. Wood's classes took over the Red Planet today! They used Sphero Indi and coding to navigate sand traps, dodge radiation zones, and hit 3 high-value targets before reaching the extraction point. Who knew coding could be this out of this world? 🪐✨
