What does the ideal student for the Technological Education Hub at AMSS look like?

• Interested in the skilled trades 

• Willing to participate in the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program in Grade 11 and 12 which includes a minimum two credit coop placement

Grade 9 Candidate has:

• An interest in the skilled trades and is willing to rotate through a variety of tech sectors earning a total of two technology credits in Grade 9

Grade 10 Candidate has:

• Earned 8 credits including compulsory Grade 9 Math, English, Science, Geography and French (or substitute) or 6 credits with 2 viable credit recovery options

• An interest in the skilled trades and is willing to register for the SHSM program in Grade 11

Grade 11 Candidate has:

• Earned 12 credits

• Completed compulsory Grade 9 Math, English, Science, Geography and French (or substitute)

• An interest in skilled trades and is willing to register for the SHSM program including a minimum 2 credit coop placement

Grade 12 Candidate has:

• Earned 20 credits

• Completed compulsory Grade 9 and 10 Math credits

• Completed compulsory Grade 9, 10 and 11 English credits

• Completed 2 Science credits

• Completed Grade 9 Geography, French (or substitute), Grade 10 History and Civics/Careers credits

• An interest in skilled trades and is willing to register for the SHSM program including a minimum 2 credit coop placement
