Chatham-Kent Lambton Administrative School Services (CLASS), together with local school bus operators, will host its annual First Time Rider Orientation Day on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017. The safety program is for students from the Lambton Kent District School Board & St. Clair Catholic District School Board.
As another school year begins, CLASS and the local school bus operators are preparing parents and first-time school bus riders from JK – Grade 1 in understanding the importance of school bus safety by hosting a First Time Rider Orientation Day on Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at two separate locations.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the free session, where school bus safety trainers will talk to the children about basic school bus safety rules, how to cross the street safely and how to evacuate a bus in case of an emergency. The young riders will then board a bus and go for a short ride. The sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and will be approximately 30 minutes in length.
