This letter is to notify you of an incident that occurred outside the building on Friday, Nov. 30.
Earlier today, the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) notified Union Gas of concerns about a smell of sulfur in the area. Union Gas responded to Harwich Raleigh Public School and determined the odour is not related to a natural gas leak. Students were secured inside the building until the situation was resolved. Once Union Gas confirmed the issue was resolved, in coordination with the LKDSB's Health and Safety Department, the students were then permitted outside for recess.
There was no concern for students' safety inside the school during this time, however we appreciated everyone's cooperation.
Should you have any questions or concerns you are encouraged to contact the school.
