Student Nutrition

The Ontario Student Nutrition Program provides students with free, nutritious snacks, breakfasts, and lunches to support their learning and overall well‑being.

At Rosedale, our snack program is run by a team of volunteer staff and students.

Each week we receive fresh bananas, apples and oranges from Sarnia Produce, and cartons of milk from Evans Wholesale. We like to keep things exciting and sometimes add in other fruit or vegetables, cheese strings and yogurt tubes. We are even lucky enough to have a member of staff who occasionally takes uneaten bananas, and turns them into banana muffins for us!

Every Monday, volunteers make sure that sanitized bins are filled with fresh produce. They then deliver a bin to each class. On Wednesdays, volunteers check all class bins to make sure that they are topped up. In the office, we have chilled milk, bowls of produce and any special snack offered that week.

We love to hear the ideas from our students, and try to offer snacks that they love!
