1) There will be a mandatory Relay team captain's meeting Monday at lunch in Mrs. Sanders' room. If you are a team captain and can't make it then someone from your team must go in your place!
2) Today is the last day to make a Mother's Day card in the library at lunch. Also, all esports members are asked to come to the library at lunch for our game. (Miss Syer)
3) Last night the girls' rugby team travelled to Sarnia to play LCCVI in their first ever rugby game and let's just say the girls came to play!! The entire team committed to their tackles and held the defensive line. Kaydence D, Kyla M, and Kayla S made some absolutely massive hits. Grace N demonstrated incredible leadership and even went for a half field breakaway to get our first and only try. Olivia P was a menace in the rucks and Ali C stole the ball on multiple occasions. We may have lost 10-5 but the girls played with heart and left it all on the field. Lastly, we have to shout out to our grade 9 player Miranda M who was player of the match. She was aggressive, made her tackles and ran the ball well. Well done ladies! Ms. Cook, Ms. Antonissen, Mr. Stephenson and Mr. Needham are so proud of you! Don't forget that we have a triple header out on the back campus tonight. The boys play at 3 and 4 with the girls kicking off at 5 pm. See you there Eagles! AND SPECIAL thanks to Ms. Cook without her spectacular coaching we never would have been as prepared or have that much fun!!!
4) Congrats to the Frozen cast on a great performance last night. Tickets will be on sale today outside of the drama room for $10 a ticket. Shows are tonight at 7 pm and Saturday at 2 pm and 7 pm. (Mr. MacDougall)
5) Attention all girls' soccer team members. There will be a team meeting today at the beginning of lunch in the gym. All players are asked to attend. Please see Mr. Wilson if you cannot attend.
6) Yesterday was a date in world history that has fallen into the shadows of memory. May 8th marked the end of WWII in Europe. Remember the greasy haired guy with a mini moustache who wore a spider on his sleeve from your history class? Yesterday marked the end of the German war effort led by Adolph Hitler. Canadians helped to bring his brutal regime to an end with campaigns in France, Italy and Holland. For all those who made our lives what they are today.. We forever thank you... it's been 80 years since that glorious day. (Mr. Tichenoff)
