1. OFSAA Golf – Keegan T and AJ W spent the last two days in Windsor representing the NLSS Eagles at OFSAA for Golf. Both Keegan and AJ played well. Keegan T finished tied for 7th amongst all high school division golfers after shooting a score of 76 on Day 1 and following it with a score of 77 on Day 2. AJ W finished tied for 29th (scores of 83 and 81) and also put up a strong showing finishing in the top half of all high school division golfers competing. Great job guys!
2. Girls Basketball - Last night your Eagles Basketball team headed to McGregor in Chatham for some more LKSSAA basketball action. While our Girls were getting warmed up for their first game, they were treated to photo op with WNBA star and McGregor alumni Bridget Carleton of the Portland Fire which to be honest was pretty cool. In the first game our girls played another great second half and lost 26-15. If these Junior girls ever start learning how to put the ball in the hoop in the first half we might have a championship team on our hands. Hopefully in the second half of the season we will be able to figure that part out. Leading the way for the Juniors was Sammie L with 5 points and Hayley D with 4 points
In the second game of the night our Senior girls took the lead in the first minute of the first quarter and never looked back. Despite a hostile Panthers gym and even more intense McGregor bench, our girls were able to hold the Panthers at bay and won 51-47. Leading the way for the Eagles was Alexis W with 24 points and Meaghan G with 8 points. Great job ladies. Good luck to the Senior girls as they head to Wallaceburg to play in the Annual Tartan Classic.
3. Playoff Baseball – For the first time in over 10 years the Eagles are playing playoff baseball. The team is hosting the semi-final game right here in Forest after school on Monday. Come out and support the team as they work towards the LKSSAA title.
4. Optimist Volleyball Coaches – The list of students that have been selected to coach Optimist Volleyball is posted outside both the boys and girls’ change rooms. Thanks to everyone that has volunteered.
5. Rugby 7’s! - Reminder for the girls’ team – bring back your safety and tournament forms to Ms. Haisman ASAP! If you are interested in watching game footage, come to room 311 at lunch today. Practice continues next week.
6. Attention all music students from 1st and 2nd semester. If you are interested in the year end trip, please see Mr. MacDougall in the music room today at lunch. Participation in Concert Band, Jazz Band, or Vocal Connection will be required.
7. Library – Need a mid-day break? Head to the library at lunch. We’re hosting Fall Colouring Week every day this week during lunch. We’ll have tons of cool autumn colouring sheets, supplies, and a quiet spot to hang out with friends while you eat. (Mrs. Herrington)
