6. NLSS Girls’ Basketball: Over the past weekend out Senior Girls travelled way up north to Walkerton to compete in their annual Girls Basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday. They had a very successful weekend going 3 wins and 1 loss. In our first game our girls had to shake off the their travel legs and eventually defeated John Diefenbaker Secondary School from Hanover 36-22 and then two hours later kept that momentum going with a sound defeat of St. Mary’s of Owen Sound 37-22. In their third game Saturday Morning they met Woodland Christian who are the defending OFSAA gold medalists the past two season. It was a tough game as Woodland game out strong and we had a tough time catching back up. The girls gave them their best game of the tournament but lost 46-25 in that semi-final. In their last tilt of the tournament, our girls took out their frustrations and hammered Grey-Highland Secondary School from the big town of Flescherton 38-26. Great work this weekend girls you made your school proud. Practice tonight for both Seniors and Junior. See you all there.
7. Tennis Team
On Friday the tennis team was in action in Sarnia at the LKSSAA North tournament. Conditions were perfect and your Eagles played very well. The teams of Sean Van Diepen - Oliver and Malcolm H - Colin G both played very well earning victories over tough teams. Sam Parker was the busiest Eagle, playing in 4 matches and narrowly missed moving on. The highlight of the day was Avery L who finished third in Girls Singles and has qualified for SWOSSAA on Thursday in Chatham. Great job Eagles!
Practice will continue tonight for anyone who can make it.
