1.      Cross Country – Welcome to another Cross Country season.  Practice will start today. Please meet in room 181 at 2:30 ready to run.  Practice will run Monday to Thursday after school.  Coaches:  Ms. White, Ms. Pardo, Mr. Petrus 

2.      Chess Club will meet today at 11 AM in Room 184.  Please be on time.

3.      SPIRIT WEEK – Tuesday is Tropical Shirt Day, Wednesday, Jersey Day, Thursday, Music Shirt Day, Friday, Pyjama Day

4.      Vocal Connection will rehearse today at lunch in the music room.  Jazz Band will practice on Tuesday at lunch.

5.      Baseball Game Today – team players are excused today at 1:45 for their game in Forest against Northern.

6.      James Brown Memorial Golf Tournament – Thanks to everyone who came out to the tournament at Arkona Fairways on Saturday!

7.      Junior Boys’ Volleyball – First practice for Junior Boys Volleyball will be Tuesday after school from 2:30-4.  We will also practice at lunch on Thursday.  The game schedule for the season has been posted on our google classroom.  Please let Mrs. Cundick or Mr. Eberline know if you cannot attend.

8.      Fall Bingo – Join us in the library this Thursday, September 24th at lunch for Fall Bingo!  Grab your lunch, bring a friend, and get ready to win some great prizes.  All are welcome, so don’t miss out on the fun!

9.      Tennis Team – Attention all students who are interested in playing on the tennis team.  Tryouts will begin today, Monday, September 21st and run every day until Thursday next week.  The team is open to all students and all grades.  Please see Mr. Wilson or Ms. Brown if you are interested.

10. Community Crew – Weekly Volunteer Opportunities for Youth through the North Lambton Community Health Centre.  See Mrs. Petrus for more info!!

11. College/University Visits – Sign up in Student Services to attend the college and university presentations that will be happening this fall.  Lambton College and King’s University will be here next week.  (Mrs. Petrus)

12. Forest Fall Fair Ambassador – The Forest Fall Fair Ambassador competition is Thursday, September 24th @ 7:30.  Deadline to apply is September 18th.  Cash, prizes, $1000 bursary.  Forms are available on the fair website or call Karen 519-402-3269.

13. Volunteer/Job opportunity.  The Thedford Optimist Club is looking for students to join our canteen team at the Legacy Recreation Centre!  A great first job opportunity!  Must be at least 14 years old and in Grade 9 or higher.  No previous work experience required – we’ll help you get started!  See Mrs. Petrus for more info!!

14. Key Club – Did you know that you’re required to complete 40 hours of community service to graduate from high school?  Are you looking for ways to earn your community service hours?  Perhaps you already completed your community service hours but you enjoy giving back to the school and community.  Please see Mrs. Hoskin if interested.

15. Book Club – Read to dive into great stories, share your thoughts and discover your next favorite read?  We will meet once a month to chat about our latest picks.  If you want to join the fun and get on the list, go see Ms. Herrington in the library to sign up today!

16. LEAD (Learn, Evolve & Accept Diversity) will begin meeting this Friday!  LEAD is a safe and welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies.  Come connect, find support, and stand together.  Meeting today in the career centre at lunch!
